It's not a new practice http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/whats-the-french-for-flying-sardines-9815546.html but should we be advised before we book that the seat could be very narrow?

Is 3-5-3 a380 arrangement just too many bodies?

We flew AA to NY from Heathrow in feb on a Boing 777,it was 3-4-3 seating but the seats were very comftable with plenty of leg room and tv,s in the seat infront, this was in standard class, found it ok.
ITS NOT EASY TO GET EVERYTHING WRONG ,I HAVE TO WORK HARD TO DO IT!

There are too many planes involved for it just to be Gatwick routes, it'll be Heathrow too.

So many airlines operate 10 abreast in the 777 now that it was inevitable BA would follow suit - they have to remain competitive. Their 787s have had narrow seats since delivery, and it's not even the first time BA 777s have had 10 abreast.

To be honest part of me welcomes this change - BA's tired 777s are long overdue a cabin refurbishment.
