    This is my 2nd diary on MSE. My first diary, "When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!" has to be closed as it's reached over 5000 posts!! It can be found here;

In 2011 my Husband had a motorcycle accident resulting in a severe brain injury, memory problems and Epilepsy. Unfortunately he is getting worse not better and I am now his full time Carer, which can be challenging, but I'm ever grateful he is still here! I also have 2 boys aged 10 and almost 5, a part time job and I'm currently a Beaver Leader but I've just given notice to leave at Christmas (as much as it pains me!) as I just can't manage that too. The last 3.5 years have been hard going for lots of reasons, but worth it. Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day!!

At the time of the accident we owed over £23,700 on credit cards and we currently owe just over £3000. Hopefully this diary will see us getting debt free forever! I hope you'll join me.

    Lucky Xx

    MoneySavingExpert.com update, Tuesday 15 Jan 2019

Forumite please-let-me-be-lucky shared her inspirational story on the Martin Lewis Money Show this week.

In 2011 a motorcycle accident left her husband with a severe brain injury. At the time, they owed nearly £24,000 on credit cards. Thanks to her incredible perseverance, all while being a full-time carer, they’re debt-free.

You can watch the story of her amazing achievement on the Martin Lewis Money Show.

Alternatively, grab a cuppa, sit down and read the thread with her diary below (or catch up on events after the show here).

Thanks all. Still having pain but nowhere near as bad. My discharge letter says I have acalculous cholecystitis which is an inflammatory gallbladder disease, and is about as much fun as it sounds .

DH has had a few naps since Iíve been home which I think have helped to bring his stress levels down. Heís been a big help though, apart from when he gets tired and forgets Iím ill .

NSD today. Not hard when you donít have any money to spend! We get some more money on Wednesday which is helpful as itís DHís Birthday on Thursday and I havenít even got him a card yet .

DH is 41 today! He has had a few funny turns the last few days where he just starts speaking gobbledegook and makes no sense at all. Heís had a partial seizure, but no full ones, since I got home from hospital .

Money wise, we just made it to yesterday thank goodness. DH has kindly put his birthday money into the pot, apart from paying for a takeaway, which is his choice of birthday treat later. Xx

Feeling much more human now beanie! More energy, hardly any pain, not feeling sick and more and not shivering/shaking any more .

Feeling rubbish in other ways though. Doctor told me I need to lose weight. I know I do, but itís rotten when someone else tells you .

Went back to chub club yesterday and Ďonlyí gained 2lbs in 5 weeks so nowhere near as bad as I thought. This week probably wonít be a great result as we still have birthday cake and chocolate etc in the house, but itís a start and Iím going to try.

Yesterday was our 16th wedding anniversary. We didnít do anything special but due to the kindness of our family members we are £60 up . Wasnít expecting anything and Iím super pleased.

Iceland emailed to say theyíd added £5 to my bonus card as they Ďmissedí me. Truth be told I have been shopping there sporadically, but had forgotten my bonus card on several occasions. Anyway, went and spent their free fiver with glee.

Today Iím taking DS2 and his pal for a free trampolining trip. A local park had a competition running but hadnít announced the winner. I messaged them asking who won, and whilst it hadnít been me they gave me 2 free tickets for pointing out their error Xx

Happy anniversary Lucky . I hope DS enjoys the trampolining trip.

It's not nice being told you need to lose weight but you have been making some progress on it and ups and downs are inevitable.
