    This is my 2nd diary on MSE. My first diary, "When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!" has to be closed as it's reached over 5000 posts!! It can be found here;

In 2011 my Husband had a motorcycle accident resulting in a severe brain injury, memory problems and Epilepsy. Unfortunately he is getting worse not better and I am now his full time Carer, which can be challenging, but I'm ever grateful he is still here! I also have 2 boys aged 10 and almost 5, a part time job and I'm currently a Beaver Leader but I've just given notice to leave at Christmas (as much as it pains me!) as I just can't manage that too. The last 3.5 years have been hard going for lots of reasons, but worth it. Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day!!

At the time of the accident we owed over £23,700 on credit cards and we currently owe just over £3000. Hopefully this diary will see us getting debt free forever! I hope you'll join me.

    Lucky Xx

    MoneySavingExpert.com update, Tuesday 15 Jan 2019

Forumite please-let-me-be-lucky shared her inspirational story on the Martin Lewis Money Show this week.

In 2011 a motorcycle accident left her husband with a severe brain injury. At the time, they owed nearly £24,000 on credit cards. Thanks to her incredible perseverance, all while being a full-time carer, they’re debt-free.

You can watch the story of her amazing achievement on the Martin Lewis Money Show.

Alternatively, grab a cuppa, sit down and read the thread with her diary below (or catch up on events after the show here).

Sneaking back in after being MIA all week, sorry.

Itís been a funny old week. Started in a mope as it was an angel baby due date anniversary, which probably affected me more because I was already feeling down. DH and I had lots of squabbles and I just wanted to hide away.
I had a night at a friendís house with wine, and Iíve had a lunch date with my Sister and Grandma today, and my mood is improving .

DH had the results of his biopsy, and itís definitely Lichen Planus. Thereís a small chance it can turn malignant (), so he has to get it checked every 3 months. He also had a reaction to the steroid mouthwash they gave him and he looked like a chipmunk . On top of that he has sticky eyes, which is probably hay fever, but is something else to keep an eye on (no pun intended ).

Canít remember if I mentioned it, but I won a photoshoot for the dog . The shoot and one print were the prize, as long as we agreed that the photographer can use any images for a competition heís entering himself. Anyway, long story short we were convinced to all be in some of the photos, and of course they turned out amazing. Against my better financial judgment, I have ordered some extra photos on top of the freebie one , so I need to cover the cost of those.

Have made a few sales on eBay from the things my sister donated

Sorry you were feeling low but glad you feel a bit better now.

Great news on the photo shoot win and I'm sure you'll treasure the photos for years to come. That photographer knows what he's about .

Sorry DH isn't too well at the moment. I hope things improve for him soon.

Morning PLMBL Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today. DH sounds like he's having it rough at the moment, which I'm sure is having a knock on effect. DD used to suffer from geographical tongue. Must admit I'd never heard of it but the GP took one look and diagnosed.

The photo shoot sounds great and if they're as good as the ones I've seen that friends and family have had done, I defy anybody not to buy extras

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. xx

Iíve downloaded the CheckoutSmart app after watching the Tonight programme about savvy shopping. GreenJin was mentioned, which I already use, but I now have CheckoutSmart also. Thanks to that, I got 3 things Ďfreeí today - chicken bits, peperami rolls and yogurt. You have to pay for the items first, then snap a photo of your receipt and they refund you . Apart from the yogurt, the things I got arenít what I would normally buy, but with 3 hungry boys to fill it all helps! There were also coupons for money off items, but I only went for the freebies Xx
