    This is my 2nd diary on MSE. My first diary, "When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!" has to be closed as it's reached over 5000 posts!! It can be found here;

In 2011 my Husband had a motorcycle accident resulting in a severe brain injury, memory problems and Epilepsy. Unfortunately he is getting worse not better and I am now his full time Carer, which can be challenging, but I'm ever grateful he is still here! I also have 2 boys aged 10 and almost 5, a part time job and I'm currently a Beaver Leader but I've just given notice to leave at Christmas (as much as it pains me!) as I just can't manage that too. The last 3.5 years have been hard going for lots of reasons, but worth it. Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day!!

At the time of the accident we owed over £23,700 on credit cards and we currently owe just over £3000. Hopefully this diary will see us getting debt free forever! I hope you'll join me.

Forumite please-let-me-be-lucky shared her inspirational story on the Martin Lewis Money Show this week.

In 2011 a motorcycle accident left her husband with a severe brain injury. At the time, they owed nearly £24,000 on credit cards. Thanks to her incredible perseverance, all while being a full-time carer, they’re debt-free.

You can watch the story of her amazing achievement on the Martin Lewis Money Show.

Alternatively, grab a cuppa, sit down and read the thread with her diary below (or catch up on events after the show here).

Morning Hope you're feeling better today. Exciting about being on Martin's show. Was it just by chance that you were interviewed? Have a good day. x

Martin’s assistant came over to ask if we had a question for him, to which I said “no, but I’d like to thank him if I could get a chance” (meaning in a break from filming), but when they heard our story they asked us to do it on camera!!

I may not even be on Hairy, but if I am it’s Martin’s show at 8pm ITV on Monday. Not sure how many weeks the series will run for, and I could pop up at any time Xx

Don’t feel like I have much to say as not much happening here this weekend. Car has been filled with cardboard boxes ready for the recycling bit at the tip. They are from the computer DS1 built himself, and he’s happy with it so they can go now . I get my dining room back . Everyone coming over on Saturday for DS2’s birthday, so at least we have the room if I decide to do a buffet. At the moment I’m just thinking of tea/coffee and a birthday cake as it will be cheaper, but I know everyone will bring something if I do go for a buffet so it’s still a consideration.

Had a ‘hold your breath’ moment yesterday as a horrible looking letter from DWP landed on the door mat. It started with ‘There have been some changes in PIP law which affect how claims are decided. We are looking again at PIP claims to see which ones are affected’

    Blah blah blah blah....

    Then eventually

Your (DH’s) award is not affected and is still correct

    Phew!!!!

I suppose I need to expect that one for Mr SA then, he's on PIP. Makes you wish they could just work and be out of it

DH was last awarded it in 2016 SA. Makes you wonder what would happen if they decided he’d been being overpaid all that time . Mind you, being sent money if he’d been underpays would’ve been nice!!

His current award lasts until next summer, so I’m guessing the review will happen later this year . Only just got over the ESA one!!

MR SA had his PIP review last year and they said they wouldn't bother him again. That remains to be seen. What concerns me is that they seem to know something I don't, which makes me wonder what's in his medical notes. Ignorance is bliss probably.

My SiL was given 10 years before she needs her next review. Makes me wonder what they base things on, as all Consultants have said DH will never get any better than he is now, yet he was placed on a 3 year review Xx

I don't think I'll ever understand how they decide when to do the reviews.

I've spoken to a few parents who claim DLA and have awards for several years for things 'that could improve' so rely on them informing the DWP of changes I guess. Yet youngest won't improve and we got a 12 month award. I'm hoping after all this now it will be longer than 12 months! Or It will just be sorted when the review is due again

It's such a worry isn't it. I dread the postie coming

Hope you've had a good weekend
