    This is my 2nd diary on MSE. My first diary, "When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!" has to be closed as it's reached over 5000 posts!! It can be found here;

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3911061

In 2011 my Husband had a motorcycle accident resulting in a severe brain injury, memory problems and Epilepsy. Unfortunately he is getting worse not better and I am now his full time Carer, which can be challenging, but I'm ever grateful he is still here! I also have 2 boys aged 10 and almost 5, a part time job and I'm currently a Beaver Leader but I've just given notice to leave at Christmas (as much as it pains me!) as I just can't manage that too. The last 3.5 years have been hard going for lots of reasons, but worth it. Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day!!

At the time of the accident we owed over £23,700 on credit cards and we currently owe just over £3000. Hopefully this diary will see us getting debt free forever! I hope you'll join me.

    Lucky Xx

Lovely parents evening for DS1 yesterday. Good to hear heís doing well at school even if he can be a right pain in the backside at home. In all fairness he has been better this week and has stopped making threats to harm himself .

Lost half a pound at chub club. Bit disappointed but Iíve lost 17.5lbs in 6 weeks, so overall Iíve done ok. 8 more weeks til Florida and 26 weeks til my 40th, so still time to make more improvements! Worst part though is DH lost 3lbs (and has gone too far below target) despite eating sweet treats til he caused a world shortage .

Florida pot now stands at £260 exactly .

Well done to DS1 for progress at school.. [] Don't quite know what to say about him threatening to self-harm. Think I'd have dragged him out to help at a homeless shelter [if he's old enough]. Anything to get home the lesson that he's actually very fortunate in life!

Glad DS is doing well at school. Boo to the self harming threat - there's too much information out there putting ideas in kids heads unfortunately.

I love that idea Robin, thank you. I shall see about putting it info action! I think he needs a good dose of reality.

Thanks Mummy. Iím chipping away. Could do with it going a bit faster, but at least itís in the right direction.

DH and DS2 came shopping with me to Mr Tís today. Big mistake! Way over budget . They also chose me some flowers for Motherís Day (their own idea) and I quote ďpicked cheap ones coz you wouldnít want us to spend muchĒ. Donít know if thatís a good thing or not!!

    Happy Motherís Day all .

Iíve had a lovely day. We all got together at MiLís - my Mum and Grandma included. Everyone did something for a buffet so it wasnít all down to one person, and it worked out great. It was also a NSD

Won £25 on lotto last night . Makes me feel better about a purchase I made yesterday. New L00k sent me a discount code and I still had some cash left on a gift card, so I ended up buying a dress online for my hollies. £30 dress for £11.20. Even though itís a bargain itís still an unnecessary spend, so I feel guilty. That said, New L00k are obviously in trouble so at least I havenít lost the amount I had on the gift card. Will use £10 of the lotto win to replace the spend, and £15 can go into Florida pot.

to the Iron Man Challenge. Fair play to him for being up for it though. Hope the dizziness amounts to nothing, could it be low blood sugar/low blood pressure?

Please don't feel guilty about treating yourself to such a bargain dress. NL have some fab bargains it would be a shame if they go under.

    Hope Mr Lucky is okay.

As for DS and self harm - The ideas of taking him to show their are others worse off might not make a difference. You obviously know him well enough to know why he says he wants/will. However as an adult who still self harms and it started back when I was 13ish It's never been about 'self entitlement/feeling hard done by etc' nor for attention. It's obviously different for different people. I'd just be cautious if you know what I mean

Hope you're looking after you too

Thank you for being so open WF, and making me consider another point of view. Perhaps I should have been more specific, though I was frightened/embarrassed/horrified to write it down as it made it seem real. He was actually wanting to Ďend it allí . He said we would all be happier without him because we hate him and are always mean to him .
