Baby steps to mortgage freedom for beanielou. 4th Nov 14 at 2:19 PM
My first thread on the MFW board!!
My mortgage has 6 & 1/2 years left to run.
My income seems to decrease more & more & it becomes more & and more of a challange to pay my hefty(to me) mortgage.
I have managed an overpayment last month as I got some £££'s unexpectedly.
My biggest fear is not being able to pay my mortgage & loosing my home.
So I have decided that baby steps are the way forward~even a fiver or a tenner overpaid in a month is better than nothing.

Charity shops do smart trousers, definitely worth a look, then you just need a smartish top to go with them.

I don't have any need for smart clothes either so picked up a £3.50 dress from a charity shop for DD1s graduation. The next week I sold it on eBay for £12

Where what you will be comfortable in. Are you going to be the proud mother in lots of graduation photos or the proud mother looking on?

For me it’s dressing as if you are going to a family meal for a special occasion.... smart jeans will show you are a trendy Mummy........

It can be a lot of waiting around so in this weather I think trousers might be a winner. Always think shoes are not so prominent with trousers as a dress. Hope you find some that dont hurt though!

Hi Beanie, I wore black trousers and tops for my kids graduations and I could wear them again afterwards. When is the graduation?
The talk of charity shops made me think of my mil who volunteered a morning a week until she became too frail......and she got some amazing bargains - a perk for giving her time I suppose. She loved it - meeting people and bargains too.....

Graduation is a week on Friday.

I have been thinking about my dad today.
6 1/2 years since he died.
He would have been so very proud of his Grandson.
I like to think he will be looking down on us on the day.

He served in WW2 & I still have some of his paperwork from that time.
I salute him & everyone else involved in the conflict.

My uncle was rescued by the Russians in the 2nd World War. He was a stickler for buying a poppy. He's been gone a long time but I always think of him on Rememberance Sunday and I always buy a poppy or I would be letting him down. My great aunt lost her fianc! in the 1st World War, she never married and always wore her engagement ring - very sad I hope she was reunited with him when she passed away.

Good idea to try eBay for the outfit.
