Baby steps to mortgage freedom for beanielou. 4th Nov 14 at 2:19 PM
My first thread on the MFW board!!
My mortgage has 6 & 1/2 years left to run.
My income seems to decrease more & more & it becomes more & and more of a challange to pay my hefty(to me) mortgage.
I have managed an overpayment last month as I got some 's unexpectedly.
My biggest fear is not being able to pay my mortgage & loosing my home.
So I have decided that baby steps are the way forward~even a fiver or a tenner overpaid in a month is better than nothing.

What a great thing to do chanting Beanie , it's new to me but obviously not to you and 70 other people. I am glad you find it helps .

You have done amazingly well so far . I hope You Gov pays out soon. Mine in feb bought my suitcase for my Australia holiday.

I have my hair done at home by my niece , couldn't afford salon prices.

Have a lovely day , the sun is out here .

I met my DS yesterday & we then went to look at the cats.
Then we met with my mum & had a catch up.
For the sake of being truthful I bought trousers & a shirt
Had love to shop vouchers which I was keeping for food.
Anyway I had vouchers for a lot of money off too so used the vouchers together.
DS was mortified as they are extra work for the staff.
Anyway total cost to me 67p!!
    So pleased with that

Then DS drove my car home as I was really tired & wobbly & his GF came in their car and we had tea.
    So a good wee day.

Sounds like you had a lovely day with lovely people and got a bargain along the way.

I have my hair done by a neighbour who is a mobile hairdresser - I wash my hair at home and pop over to her and I'm back in half an hour - that costs me 23. Dread to think how much a salon would cost. I'm going rather 'silver' and have only ever put rinses on years ago - I hated the texture of my hair after them and am wary of starting now as once I start I'd have to carry on. Although i went to buy tickets for local theatre and realised she's given me OAP tickets - I'm not even 60 yet so maybe I should....

Unfortunatly today has not been so bright.
Had to make an emergency visit to the hospital with a close relative for a same day appointment. All turned out well in the end. The NHS at its best it has to be said. Still stressful though.

Well, any time you have to visit A&E thats going to feel stressful, and you (we!) will feel it the next day. Try to coast along a bit at the foodbank today, beanie, it's a big ask. Thinking of you.

Glad to hear all was well in the end with the poorly relative. In times of crisis the NHS are brilliant (as I've found through bitter experience!).

Happy belated birthday to the best boy So pleased he's come through the rough patch he had earlier this year.

You were very strong to resist the lure of rehoming a cat. It's not the food cost it's the vet bills. I don't think I could go to a re-homing place and not be tempted to adopt them all.
