    MSE Update November 2017

    Hi everyone

Please could all forumites using this board re-read our original post below.

    Thank you!

    ----

Please read our Don't Pay Unfair Parking Tickets News story for MSE's stance.

    -----

    Hi everyone,

As you!!!8217;ll be aware this board was set up for users to find factual information about parking tickets fines, whether they are enforceable or not, and the appeals and actions process.

What it was not set up to do was to pursue any one individual or company to the extent that some users on here have, again, despite our previous requests not to.

You might think it's your "right" and that we should back you fully, but we are governed by the law of the land and our Rules and T&Cs make it pretty clear that posting names and personal details, and making personal comments about others is simply not allowed.

In recent months, we have again had to deal with complaints about this board. Here at MSE we fight your corner as a consumer and we believe much of the private parking industry is a Wild West full of many cowboys ripping off honest motorists, as we!!!8217;ve seen and heard too many stories to suggest otherwise (and some staff here have been on the end of unscrupulous tactics). However, some firms do also act fairly.

The problem we face is when people make allegations without evidence against a specific company, calling them !!!8220;scammers!!!8221; or !!!8220;criminals!!!8221;. Without evidence, this becomes a legal problem and we may have to remove threads and posts to protect the site. We prefer to keep our resources focused on fighting hard for you to fight unfair tickets and keeping that debate unabashed than having to deal with a legal sideshow about !!!8216;is the name-calling fair?!!!8217; !!!8211; so please help us help you by moderating the language not to accuse of illegality.

We are a small team managing over 150 Forum boards, all requiring resource. So we cannot investigate every complaint to gather the required evidence, sadly. We!!!8217;d love to do just that to fight your corner even further but it is not always possible.

We can support your factual comments, we can!!!8217;t support personal remarks about others

We can only support factual comment that operates within our Rules and T&Cs. Personal, antagonistic arguments against individuals break these and we cannot defend it. If you keep things non-personal, on topic, factual, can prove everything you say and work within these rules and T&Cs, we will always do our best to defend your comment, as we do everywhere. If not we shall have to speak with you and if it continues, may have to remove a poster!!!8217;s posting privileges.

We hope this comes across in the manner it is intended. Please help us to help you, by working with us to defend your comments.

    Thank you

Why post here? You are in the wrong place and a link a few posts up, shows you where to go.

You need to read the NEWBIES thread (and not post there, please). My signature also tells you where to click to get back.

Parking ticket in residence bay I own
    Hi,

I am just looking for some advice about a parking ticket I was issued.

I live in a flat which has private underground parking, I have an allocated bay, which I own under my long term lease. We are issued with residence parking permits and the car park is checked by PCM. They have signs up in the car park saying permit must be displayed, as the permit is changed to more than one car I can't fix in the window so just place on the dash.

The permit had fallen onto the floor when I exited the car and I was issued with a ticket, the attendant had taken pictures of the car windcrseen and also the passenger floor and seat, but not the drivers side, where the ticket was.

I appealed the ticket as this was a genuine mistake and the attendant had deliberately only taken pictures of the passenger side, also thought a £60 was unfair considering I am a resident parking in my own space.

They rejected the appeal on the grounds the permit was not display in the windscreen and even though I am a resident they have signs up so I must abide by them.

I just wondered if anyone had ever had a similar case and if they think I should appeal to the IAS and if I would win.

I know the signs are correct but was a mistake and I own the space I was parked in....

    Thank for any advice

Please help I am really lost
    Dear all,
I am quite lost. I have tried to read posts and links but I am really confused now.
I parked in a SIP car park, I duly paid the fee at the machine, i got the ticket but μ, unlucky me, probably upon shutting the door the ticket fell on the floor. On my return I had a PCN on my window screen which I have appealled straight away on the online SIP website the same night explaining the situation and sending the ticket as proof. Now, a week later, they replied by email rejecting my appeal and prompting me to pay more (originally GBP35)now GBP60.
They writre that if I am not happy to contact the IAS within 21 days from their rejection notice.
Please help as i do not know what to do, and it has been a very unfortunate genuine circumstance
    I will await your reply
    thanks
    regards
    Sandro
