Well, we've got a goodnight thread so let's have a good morning one as well.

    Good morning everybody
Me and the dog have had our morning constitutional and shortly I shall be venturing forth to the big Tesco to do my fortnightly shop. When I get home I've got 3 hours work related admin and paperwork to do

The weather here is a bit nippy but at least there's no fog.

Pyxis, don't know whereabouts exactly you are, but suggest that if it's anywhere near Watchet you do just that!

You might want to avoid (or visit) Cocklake near Cheddar, going via Velvet Bottom of course.

If it's veggies you are after then it's Leekbeds you will be wanting, but don't use Nowhere Lane in Nailsea to get there. Your Satnav just won't find it.

I do like the idea of visiting Treacle Mine Road in Wincanton though. Just make sure your car is fitted with the appropriate type of tyres for negotiating this tricky terrain.

(All of the above are true place or street names.)

Perhaps they have a better class of native hereabouts? Perhaps it's the posh native area.

Edit.... no, nowhere near Watchet, more like S.Zummerzet, so not Deep or Dark. Maybe the Dorset influence prevails in these parts?

Bad nights sleep for me, woke up loads of times worrying about this bloody audit!! Also lay awake thinking, for no real reason, about the funeral on Friday.

    Is the audit today, Oakdene?

They are scary things, but even if there is an anomaly, it can usually be found to be an innocuous slip.

If it's today, it will soon be over!

    Can't have a Zummezettish cream tea as I'm on a dairy-free month.

It's already proving problematical where I'm staying. When I started it this month, I forgot I'd be having food laid on.

(I haven't asked for dairy-free meals, because it's just me trying this out, not a medical or ethical necessity, so I shall just cobble around what's on offer. There are plenty of veg, anyway! And breakfasts aren't a problem, even with not eating the meat!)

I have a nasty feeling that the mushrooms might have been glazed in butter, though. They tasted a bit buttery.

Just checked the ingredients of baked beans..... thank goodness, no milk products! They do nice fried bread here, and I lurve baked beans on fried bread! Yum yum yum!

Edit........ whose funeral, Oakdene? I think I missed that.

How are you finding the dairy free month?

Ah it's a close friend who died last month at the age of 46 of a heart attack was the kind of guy who would do anything for anyone, he text me in the morning saying he was off work ill & by 5pm he was no longer with us.

After all those comments, all I have to say is "Good Morning" !

I won't ask how old DW

Sorry to hear about your friend Oakdene. 46 is absolutely no age, and suddenly like that too. When I hear of things like that, makes me reflect on the frailty of life and what's really important.
