The Good Morning Thread 5th Apr 14 at 6:17 AM
Well, we've got a goodnight thread so let's have a good morning one as well.

    Good morning everybody
Me and the dog have had our morning constitutional and shortly I shall be venturing forth to the big Tesco to do my fortnightly shop. When I get home I've got 3 hours work related admin and paperwork to do

The weather here is a bit nippy but at least there's no fog.

Do you know, in the 1920s and earlier, fathers used to give their daughters a full teeth extraction with a dentist as a 21st birthday present!

This was because teeth problems were so prevalent and caused such problems, health-wise, that it was considered prudent to have them all out before they caused problems, and fit a set of false teeth!

The days before dental health care on the NHS, and particularly free care for children!

The dentist checks for other things too, like mouth cancer. Plus some dental problems are linked to heart disease.

The difference is that I pay £20 for a check up on the NHS - she'll charge me £40 as a private patient ....
