This is it *ping* lightbulb!!! 24th Mar 14 at 4:43 PM
    Hi all

Been a member of this forum for a while, I thought I had had my lighbulb moment in the past but clearly I had not!!!

We (OH and I) have nearly 44k of debt not inc our mortgage

We have two gorgeous little ones and I am sick of having no money for them to do things (son is old enough to start swimming lessons now and I really want him to be able to do things like that)

We were all depressed about the figure and wondering how on earth we were going to pay it off, thinking it was going to take 10 years +

I spent all of yesterday ringing the credit card companies and getting the APRs for my accounts, then we snowballed it
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
And to my MASSIVE suprise, if we can scrape even just £20 from somewhere in the budget and snowball the way the calc tells us we will be debt free in 4.5 years!!!!

That has made me and OH feel even more positive about it all!

I will try and not bore you all with my diary ... but it prob will be lol

We sent some things to music magpie yesterday, they said they will pay £62 for them, now I just hope they pass their checks and we get the £62 (they should do)

And we have some things on ebay due to end in 6 days.

    Heres to being debt free

Morning all, not in a fab mood here, I have hayfever/allergies, and if it rains overnight and I've had my windows open (which I always do even in winter) then I am in for a sneeze fest in the morning, normally settles after an hour, but 3 hours later and I am still sneezing, like every 3 mins, gone through a whole box of tissues already, it's put me in a right mood

Asda has just been, soooo sad to see they are getting rid of price guarantee by the way as I always end with a voucher back I liked getting them

Not much else planned today, need to bath the kids, they don't have any homework yet, just reading, which they do every night anyway. Mam is coming over to get her shopping that I ordered for her, then will chill later on with some cross stitch (if my nose chills the hell out)

Need to clean fudge the hamster out, we had the poor guy at the vet midweek, he was all swollen at his back end, it wasn't a hard lump but wasn't squishy either, we thought he was constipated as couldn't see much poop in his cage, but he actually did a poop at the vets, he is eating and drinking normally, she said his kidneys felt large but as he is weeing normally she wasn't concerned about them, she said we could do a ct scan but they can't always see whats wrong as hamsters are so small and they sometimes don't come round from the anesthetic, and due to his age (2.5) and that he was super lively when he was there, and not hunched over and he's still eating and drinking etc she didn't think his bowels were blocked, and he wasn't seemingly in pain etc we just need to keep an eye on his drinking, eating and toilet habits, and if he gets worse take him back, oh and give him some cucumber as well as his dry food which will help his toilet habits, anyway, so when we clean him out, I will have a check on how his lump is doing.

Have a nice day everyone xx

What a day yesterday was! it was a total right off cos I sneezed all day, was shivering and felt like rubbish, thankfully I woke up this morning and felt fine, god knows what that was about, it was weird!

I am off work today, took the kids to school, have tided up and have a batch of soup in the soup maker, just eating breakfast of strawberries and yogurt (back on SW from today lol)

Need to do the dishes, update the spreadsheet and then chill watching tv, I need to do a list of things to ebay, then at the end of the week when I am off again I will list them, we have a few things to stick on, so fingers crossed

Have a good day all xx

That's frustrating that your overtime has been delayed, especially when you're relying on the extra cash for things! Fingers crossed the ebaying does well and you can get stuck into the overtime soon.

    Glad your illness was fleeting!

I know they were fabulous weren’t they

Sad to say, we had to say goodbye to our beloved hamster today, he appeared to be going into hibernation, he was asleep but still breathing and moving etc, we took him to the vet to check, she checked him over and said he was either going into hibernation or he was passing away, so we took him home and wrapped him up nice and warm, I cuddled him for a couple of hours, he was still breathing and moving but had his eyes closed, I put him in his cage, still wrapped up so he wouldn’t get cold, then checked on him a couple of hours later and he had passed away in his sleep, RIP to fudge, he was a gorgeous lush little hamster, he was 2.5 years old so he was a old man.

The kids took the news well, they were sad of course, our son cried (has cried) a few times bless him.

It’s always sad when a pet dies xx

Morning all, how are you doing?

Shopping has just been and they messed up and gave us double some things that we ordered (but only charged us once) and it's all super useful stuff

We've dug DS's bike out the shed (we got it when he was 3 or 4 but he's never used it, he has Dyspraxia so can't quite get it, he loves his scooter so can see him never having a bike tbh) as someone from work might want to buy it for her son, and I need to go and take photos of our happyland as again the same person might want to buy it. I hope she does as it saves me listing on ebay and fees etc

Other than that it's homework and bath kids, and then hopefully chill with the kids and a movie (as it looks like overtime is starting next weekend) as I might not get too many weekends with them for a while

Have a nice day all xx

Always great when you can sell stuff directly. It saves all the ebay hassle of listing/fees/packaging/post office trips.

I tend to try my local selling groups on fb before anything else now.
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

    Afternoon all,

How is everyone doing? I am at work, nothing much happening really, gathering together more things to sell, and waiting for statements to come in etc.

I am working on a crochet blanket for my son (made one for my daughter a few months back) I was struggling to find time to do it cos I am well into my cross stitch on my days off lol so I have brought it onto work to do on my lunch break it's soooo relaxing I get an hour break on overtime as well so that will be good

Have a good day all xx

    Hello all

How are you doing? We finally had overtime on this weekend, so I was in today and will be tommorrow.

We've got a laptop on ebsy, ends tommorrow, no bids yet but 11 watchers so fingers crossed. Need to list the rest of our stuff will probably not get time till next Thursday though.

I hope everyone is ok xx
