We have a what's irritating you thread, and I think we need a thread for things that have made us smile, etc.

Me - well, we have a puppy who is now 8 months. I let her out this morning and was hoping to keep the door open for her to come in. But it was too windy. I was stood by the door waiting for her, expecting to see her come down the steps.

I then heard a tap at the door. She'd come down the steps, which I hadn't seen and tapped to be let in. She also taps to go out.

They are probably plotting their revenge.

And don't fall over and knock yourself out, or they'll probably eat you!

After being in a depressed mood all day (see other thread), my mood was lifted greatly this evening when I saw the new Slimmers World sign on the church down the road, it is bigger than the sign for the actual church leaving me in no doubt which is the more important activity in the building

    British Rail rerouting trains.

    Bless 'em All At Stafford!

I was home before midnight, which at 7pm did not seem likely.

I successfully managed to give up my landline today, the guy at Virgin tried to talk me into keeping it but I held my ground and said that I wanted broadband only.
He eventually gave in then to his credit gave me a very good deal for the broadband

Was the train really over 20 years late?

I like Stafford btw - nice park just opposite the station if you're stuck there.
Don't fall ill though - the hospital is apparently naff.

It's the same with The Post Office, Royal Mail, Parcelforce etc. It's all a muddle.

And don't get me started on what just used to be The Electricity Board and The Gas Board.

Hmm. Maybe this post should be on the irritated thread?

Speaking to an elderly lady this morning while we were both walking our dogs and she was telling me how she was getting ready for the world to end this afternoon.
On seeing the puzzled look on my face, she explained that it looks like being the first Thornton Highland Games in her living memory that has not been affected by rain, either before the event making the field all muddy or during the event.

It may not mean much to the rest of the country but her comments brought a smile to my face this morning

I now have 15 bright orange nasturtium flowers, and several buds and I am so pleased!

(My gardening skills are a bit hit & miss & I was beginning to think this was a solid miss.)

May all in Fife have a splendid time!
