We have a what's irritating you thread, and I think we need a thread for things that have made us smile, etc.

Me - well, we have a puppy who is now 8 months. I let her out this morning and was hoping to keep the door open for her to come in. But it was too windy. I was stood by the door waiting for her, expecting to see her come down the steps.

I then heard a tap at the door. She'd come down the steps, which I hadn't seen and tapped to be let in. She also taps to go out.

My work colleague who walked out of Costa into the rain with a Flat White, forgetting that he had three opened sugar sachets in his hand, and consequently ending up with it all down the back of his neck as he put his hood up.

Got confirmation today that the 'lost' premium bonds that I hold were recorded in my name at NS&I but under a different holders number for some reason which was why they did not show up on my record. They have now been transfered to the holders number that I have been using.

    *No wins though*

I was googling camel milk just now, and one of the questions offered up by google was this one: (I kid you not!)

"Can you milk a male cow?"

I'd love to see the person who asked that have a go!

My 2nd eldest son is home from university for the Easter holidays, he lives in Wales now so it's been lovely spending time with him. My 2 youngest son's love having him here too & he's looking after his 2 little brothers so we can go to a spa for the day/night tomorrow. I'm so looking forward to a relaxing break & pamper session

Ordered a new carpet for my conservatory today. I use a site that supplies full size carpets and remnants as well.

I had a good look round, found a nice carpet, checked there weren't any similar remnants as the remnants can be cheaper. The only close one was 2m too long and I can't cope with cutting down a carpet that size. So I ordered the the first one I'd picked. Paid for it etc.

About 20 minutes later I got a phone call from them asking was I aware there was a remnant in the same colour. I said yes and explained why I hadn't ordered it (too big to cut) and the woman on the phone said they'd cut it to size for me! And they'd give me a reduction of 90! Plus this remnant was the same brand, same colour but a superior quality!

    Result!

When you tag someone on FB in an awesome foodie post cos you know it's right up their street . . . . . and then it dawns on you that your 26 year old son might not appreciate his mates seeing him tagged in a recipes by his mum!!

Aw! Some kindhearted soul has left a generous box of "Two Bite Brownies" on the kitchen table.
I must find out whom & send a suitably grateful email - this sort of thing improves Fridays, even if my diet may whimper in a corner.

After my last contract ended I've secured another one to start a week on Monday.

(I switched from PAYE permanent to contracting last July and it's not too bad so far, and pays a bit better too.)

A lovely lad called Reuben who is profoundly deaf started teaching BSL to other kids in his school. He has had an invitation to THE wedding!

I have seen Reuben on television before: what a brilliant kid!
