We have a what's irritating you thread, and I think we need a thread for things that have made us smile, etc.

Me - well, we have a puppy who is now 8 months. I let her out this morning and was hoping to keep the door open for her to come in. But it was too windy. I was stood by the door waiting for her, expecting to see her come down the steps.

I then heard a tap at the door. She'd come down the steps, which I hadn't seen and tapped to be let in. She also taps to go out.

2 thing this morning brought a smile when out with the dog, the first was seeing the imprint left in the frost on the footpath of bare feet not just a few step, they went on for about 50 yards.

The second was a young lady doing what in my youth was called the 'walk of shame', still in Saturday nights glad rags, makeup and hair slightly disheveled and looking embarrassed that someone had seen her close up but still able to raise a smile

It turned out to be someone who had had a skinful the night before, he'd bought himself fish and chips but in his inebriated state had decided the verge was a good place to sleep especially as he used his fish and chip supper as a pillow

The funniest part was, the fellow dog walker (Bob) was scared to go over on his own and give this bloke a poke to see if he was alive or not. But when he did and the bloke woke up and moved Bob jumped out of his skin

Just opened a "pay slip" from one of my pensions. It seems they've been taxing me when they shouldn't have been and I've been given a 600 rebate

Plus, from other income from 2016/17 the tax man owes me another 678

I do get the brushed hair from next doors dog though and I put it in a spare fatball holder hanging on my tree in the back garden, the birds snap it up as quickly as they can at this time of year and right through to the height of summer

Unutterably wonderful NHS - who not only thanked me for telling them they'd have an empty chair this afternoon but sorted a replacement appointment for this coming Monday.

I thanked them abjectly for being in & answering phones at all!

My Mrs has done nothing but stare through the window since the snow started.

If it gets any heavier I might have to let her in!

Seeing the new 10 pence pieces, then having a root through my odd 50 pence heap & cooing a bit at the theoretical value.

Wonderful how even the little things are delightful sometimes.
