Awwwwwwwwwww twin panda boys born in Atlanta Zoo six days ago....Congratulations to Lu Lu

Just an update on the Atlanta panda twins....

This thread was started jut over two years ago when the twin pandas Mei Lun and Mei Huan were born in Atlanta Zoo. They are the only surviving twin pandas still surviving born in a US Zoo. Well they celebrated their 2nd birthday back in July and they are still together in the same enclosure and will be until they reach sexual maturity at about age 4.

Yes, looking at the full video, he did seem to be reacting in a fear response way.

His name means "Accomplishment of a Dream".

He is still very fluffy and quite grey, rather than black. Is that common, Colin?

As an example that Pandas are wild bears this is the story of a keeper who is still recovering one year after being attacked by one of the returned to the wild female adults, he was searching for her and her cub when he came across the female adult and was attacked.

Nice video of Panda Bao Bao being quite active!

Bao Bao is a 4 year old female born at the Washington zoo in the U.S. She was moved back to China in February 2017 to enter the breeding program.

She is the older sister of Bei Bei, the current Washington "cub" (he's a big boy!). Bei Bei is the one who had to have his stomach opened up to remove a blockage.
