UKPC parking charge - should I pay? 25th May 12 at 9:26 PM
I've read various threads and the general consensus seems to be not to pay.

    However......

I got a 90 ticket this week for parking in a retail car park. I parked badly (over the white line) dashed into a shop and was in and out within 15 minutes. I returned to the ticket - I couldnt see any signs anywhere. When I found one its about 10 ft up a lamp post in small type.

What should I do - refuse to pay or accept that I parked badly?

There was lots of other space in the car park so I was in no way restricting other customers.

    Thanks

The poster hasn't written this - it's a copy and paste from the UKPC website.

Why do you think Beavis is 'old hat now'? We haven't seen the start of Beavis yet.
We cannot provide you with a silver bullet to get you out of this. You have to be in for the long run, and need to involve yourself in research and work for you to get rid of this. It is not simple. We will help, but can't do it for you.

You'll need to explain that one!

What an ironic post from CHELIYAN who works for one of the most amateurish PPC's going, to call people amateur lawyers!

Your signage is rarely compliant, and as everyone knows (as can be found all over the internet you like to berate and on TV) your amateur parking Muppets regularly falsify their amateur photos, and tell lies.

Have a nice day in your nice office that doesn't exist in Gregories Road Beaconsfield!

There is no point in mocking and jeering at UKPC, the only way to hurt them is in their bank account by advising the unwashed how to cause them the maximum inconvenience.

    Same problem!
I have recently moved down the country from Teesside and we forgot to display our permit for our parking bay and have been issued a parking charge. However on the ticket they have noted down the reg incorrectly... Should we appeal against it or just ignore them completely?? Any advice will be appreciated thank you

    UK PC disabled bay charge
    Hi all.

I've read through all the comments and feedback but have a question that may not have been covered already.

I parked in a disabled bay dropping my son off to nursery, I parked there for a matter of minutes and accept under the circumstances in a car park run by the council which is lawful I should pay the charge however being UKPC I see the majority of you say ignore all letters etc and do not pay...

However, I was really annoyed about it and annoyed at myself so literally minutes after I emailed an appeal to UKPC and explained my justification for being in the bay (neither here nor there as they will refuse it) but now they have my details so I am wondering if ignoring the letters when they come as they inevitably will is a good idea? Obviously I shouldn't have given them my details and appealed before looking into it but I panicked....

    Any advise appreciated

    Thanks

    Nick

    UKPC have become increasingly litigious.

    http://www.bmpa.eu/companydata/UK_Parking_Control.html

Judges love motorists who park in disabled bays who have no entitlement to use them.

I wouldn't think ignoring any paperwork from UKPC is any kind of good idea.

    Ukpc
    Hi guys,
I know there was a few of these questions, but my one is a tiny bit different.
I got a ticket from UKPC too, made an appeal, according to the signs on begining of the road ( parking is allowed ) and then i parked other side of the parking bays where were no restrictions( was only at the bays) . They refused my appeal of course.
So my question is , I should ask for the POPLA number or code, because they mentining it too on they letter? Does this whole letter of theirs has a solid base?

]2) Make an appeal to the independent adjudicator POPLA (Parking on Private Land Appeals) using the verification
code provided above. Please note that if you wish to appeal to POPLA, you will lose the right to pay the discounted
rate of 60, and should POPLA reject your appeal you will be required to pay the full amount of 100. If you opt to
pay the parking charge you will be unable to appeal with POPLA. Appeals to POPLA must be made within twentyeight
days from the date of this letter. To appeal visit link..blabla *( had to delete it ) ...
access the internet, you may appeal by post this must be done using a POPLA postal form which may be
obtained by contacting POPLA by phone ...

What is supposto do now? should i pay , or this is still a scam?
Thank so much for the answers.

Why have you resurrected an ancient thread with what you claim is something different?

You need to read the thread at the top of the board that tells Newbies to read it first. Then start your own thread.

dezzmond, this thread is over five years old. Both the law and the advice concerning PCNs has changed since then. Do as advised above and start your own thread if you need further help.

    UKPC appeals
I made an appeal to UKPC and they turned it down. I told them I was prepared to go to court.
I heard no more for weeks than got letter from a debt collector. Again I said I would go to court. Got more letters - have a collection now. Each time the amount goes up and I get dates to pay by or court action will be taken. I have been waiting for court action to be taken since October.
I was within my rights as a disabled driver to park (but they say otherwise) where I did and want to go to court to name and shame this company.
My last letter offered me a small reduction if I was to pay by reply otherwise it would go back up to the 160.00
Amounts have varied from 60 to 160 thus far.
    I will not be paying.

Parking fine at gym from UKPC
    Hi everyone,
I got a parking ticket from the UKPC for 100 when parking at my gym who forgot to mention that you had to write your registration in a log book (even though i had been there a whole year without any problems)

Anyway the manager said he would sort the ticket and now i find a letter in the post saying its gone from being 60 to 100 now so he didnt sort it!

How should i go about this ticket? i hear alot about just ignoring it and letting it go under the rug. Is there a way to make this happen quicker? what if i returned their letter with a "not at this address" what would happen?

    Thanks everyone
