    We exchanged a car after 12 months, due to a similar change of circumstances ( late 2010).

    Motabilty were very understanding and gave us the go ahead during the first phone call.

    Got a pro rate rebate on the advance payment, but no 'good condition' bonus.

    Call them and you should find them very empathetic.

    We are changing ours a little earlier than needed due to DS2 being stretched so he's now too tall to fit on his current one
    Our Motability adviser has always been really helpful at the garage we use as have the helpline for Motability who have ok'd the early swap.
