Abba1772's Debt Free Diary 26th Oct 10 at 11:38 PM
    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for £6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the £3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card £6000
    BOS CC £1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ £124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card £3245.39 Paying £200 a month into this
BOS CC £1559.81 Paying minimum payment of £34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly £50 a month but last year is was over £80 a month so saving £30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying £200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess £200 plus the £34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have £360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

    Thanks guys xx

Well the Halifax in under £5k think insurance gets added onto it but I don't care

Hubby gave me some extra pennies so I've put some aside for the boys birthday and the rest went to the Halifax

I'm dropping off one pile of clothes tomorrow getting £12 for them and someone is coming to pick up the other pile of xanders clothes on Monday for £15

Had some interest in kks pile but nothing concrete I'm not worried they'll sell eventually xx

Hoping to send it all towards the Halifax

Hoping for a chill day tomorrow

Sold a bundle and dropped it off put the £12 in a separate bit of my purse ready to put in the bank

Sent another £3 towards the Halifax

Went out to Aldi for topping for our pizzas tonight hubby paid

Hubby also bought me a new duvet set for our bed he knows how to please me bless him I think he's feeling guilty for buying the car but I'm not complaining

Managed to get two washing out on the line thank god as the weather here has been awful so I'm pleased as I've managed to get the washing baskets emptied

    Right next target

I aim to get the Halifax to £3800 by the end of August so £1195 wow that's a big number

It's a huge push I know but I've actually had enough of these debts

I've told the family I ain't booking a holiday for next year until I've cleared the Halifax so it's defo an incentive to get this card cleared and no I won't be putting the holiday on it
