    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for 6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the 3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card 6000
    BOS CC 1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ 124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card 3245.39 Paying 200 a month into this
BOS CC 1559.81 Paying minimum payment of 34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly 50 a month but last year is was over 80 a month so saving 30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying 200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess 200 plus the 34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have 360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

    Financial adviser called........hes struggling tbh

hubby is on a downer (brilliant another weekend ruined by his negative attitude no doubt)

Im pretty pis&%d off right now but im not giving up

phoned my current mortgage provider and they can swap my mortgage over to a lower rate mortgage not the best an out mortgage repayments would drop to 399 from 431 so thats not too bad but if I over pay the mortgage by a extra 51 i pay the mortgage off in 18 years as opposed to 23 years

so I'm trying to be positive and its actually making me more determined to get rid of this debt once and for all as well as the mortgage

just bummed I've busted my !!! for two years for really nothing but i keep telling myself I've got my own home its not rented its ours so we are very lucky in that respect.

will pop on later as FA is still trying for us told him i could have the halifax card paid off by the 27th April will be really pushing it

Fingers crossed the FA comes up with something but if he doesn!!!8217;t then a saving of 32 a month is still something, you would only have to find an extra 19 per month to hit that 51 overpaying target

You do so well but it!!!8217;s totally understandable that your annoyed, thank goodness you have a fab holiday ahead to keep you smiling! xx

Oops sorry for the random numbers and apostrophes, I know there is a fix for that will need to have a look for it xx

Dont let it get you down.
You are doing so well in beating the debt.
Even the offer from your current lender is better than nothing.

You have to look at the positive - can get a better deal from existing provider if need be. You won't be in debt forever if you stay as committed as you have been and then you can be an MFW too and eliminate debt altogether.

Have fun along the way too...

You are doing so well Abba, both re weight loss and the debt, its definitely not for nothing. Your hard work is paying off, just not on the mortgage, not yet. But it will. This is just a blip. Hope you're being spoilt xx

That's frustrating about the mortgage abba, but at least you can get a better deal with your lender. Every little helps!

Once you've cleared the debt, if you attack your mortgage with the same enthusiasm, you'll have that cleared in no time!

You are still managing to live as well, you've got Florida to look forward to, keep going

So that's the three year plan I intend to smash it and be mortgage free by the time I'm fifty.......even better if I take was by the time I was 45 that would be pushing it I can dream

Like you say jwil we are still living and we have a holiday of a lifetime coming up so I plan to enjoy it as my kids are only little once

Sent 8.05 I think towards the Halifax card tomorrow I'll be down another hundred bracket

Manic Monday as usual waiting on our mortgage provider phoning me at 4.30pm then it'll be official as the FA has spent all weekend on it and he's got nothing so now I know exactly where we stand I feel much better about our situation

Off to pick the after schoolers up xx
