May save on work lunches challenge 29th Apr 10 at 11:00 PM
Where has the year gone!! May already.

Anyway, the idea is simple - try to save as much money as you can by bringing food into work instead of buying it. I know that I had been spending as much as 5 on lunches out before I started really focusing on bringing my food in - it's saved me loads of money and I hope it can be encouraging you too. There are lots of good food ideas floating around, so feel free to ask.

Please post your target in big letters so I can update the master list.

    May challenge:

    Nottoobadyet: no bought lunches!
    Treacly: two bought lunches
    Sortingmyself: three bought lunches

    Hi All,

I think I need to give this one a try - I am terrible for buying stuff in town for my lunch so spending sort of 3.50 a day.

So I am going to say maximum 1 bought lunch per week between now and end of May so that's 4 bought lunches.

    Me too please!
Oooof! I fell off the wagon in March and April, but need to get back on track now

I'm going to start again with just two bought lunches per week, so please add me as 8 bought lunches in May please. Thank you!

All lunches from home for me as well please - any bought lunches will be when someone else pays for them, like boss-man (brother) or colleagues, who owe me from all the years of me buying them lunches hehe

Azkaban - love your name, Im not sure if 420 means the same thing in the UK as it does in the US but I like the thought of dementors unwinding at the end of a long day stealing souls

Sign me up! No buying lunches at all in may - I'm preparing for this right now, there is a tuna pasta bake in the oven as we speak which will sort me out for a few days! I'm trying to clear the cupboards of all the jars and tins we never use

Excellent Bramble - Think I need to do the same - as when I take my own lunch I still end up buying my lunch say tin of beans and sausage but at least it's cheaper than buying a sandwich from M*rks or local butty shop.

And, if I remember to buy the tins from the supermarket when on offer that will save me even more money than buying at the corner shop in a morning because I am on the last minute (as always!!zzzzzzzz!)

    Enjoy the pasta bake.
