Cheap HPI Check for Cars 8th Jul 06 at 2:29 PM
    Hi Everyone

Is there any HPI check websites that are either free or cheap. I am wanting to buy a used car and looking at a few cars, so checking them all would be quite expensive, even though some state that it is HPI clear you can never really be sure. I have found one site thats seems reasonable https://www.autocheck.co.uk/ for single or multiple checks and you have 2 months in which to check further vehicles after payment for multiples. Wondering if there are any others that members may have come across or any trade person willing to check for a fee for multiple transactions.

    Many thanks

I am thinking of buying a used car and the private seller is selling the car way below the current market price. I f something sounds too good to be true than it usually is. Could someone please please do a HPI check on the following vehicle for me YC11CMO it would be much appreciated.

A clean HPI wont mean its a safe buy. It maybe a scam. All the HPI will show is the car exists. It wont show who owns it.

Sometimes, but is someone going to check a 16 year old car? Its more likely to be a logbook loan which probably wont show up anyway.

HPI Check is the best service
Free checks are available for MOT's, previous owners and other car history information but a paid car check is essential. There are lots of cheaper options like Total Car Check but HPI Check is the market leaders and their information is the most reliable.

There's a good review of the HPI Check here.

Sorry to resurrect this very old post but I'm buying a 2000 plate car for 700. I've done all of the free checks which don't cover finance. Is it worth me getting a full check? Can there be finance on a second hand car which is that old?

Sorry if it is a silly question.

Update - I've just phoned the garage it was purchased from and they don't offer any finance. Could a bank loan be charged to a car?

    free check
New service is up now called carveto.
Looks good enough. Basic info on the free check but had it all on a paid check. Don't' actually think they are up and running yet as there's a developement mode or something??? Might have posted this a bit too soon but I did manage to get the paid check 12.50. Cheap! let me know if you get one www.carveto.co.uk
