    If you go to !http://www.inyourpocket.com/ you can download a 12 page mini guide-book to each of 21 cities in Eastern Europe and Germany. I am going to Krakow next year and the one on that city is very useful.

    These are often in the up-market hotels on Eastern Europe (sponsors) or available from tourist info.

    They are fantastic...manageable but comprehensive, reliable and up to date.

    Often have walks in them....usually about 2 hours long. The ones in Warsaw are tremendous. At the end of the third (maybe fourth) one it says...congratulations...you now probably know more about the City than most locals...and we felt we did.

    It's interesting how guides vary. The serious tip is to check publication date.
