Cancelled Virgin broadband today, now what

So we have given 30 days notice to Virgin as it has become a luxury we are not willing to pay for. We are not gamers or streamers so were paying for something that we didn't get the benefit of.

We will be keeping the same landline number.

Do we phone the new company today, to get the ball rolling or wait nearer the end of the contract?
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

I think it depends if you need an installation or just an activation.

If you need an installation then no harm in booking the date now to a date close to the end of the contract.

If you only need an activation then I would wait before allowing another company to activate new services.

If you want to keep your number then in it needs to be gaining provider led so you need to get it arranged through them otherwise you will lose the number.
