Hi Guys,I've been following this thread for a while and just want people's opinions. I've just used priceline.co.uk for the first time and got a room at PH for 2 nights in July for £70. My first bid was accepted. So what I would like opinions on are(1) Did I bid too high and does this seem like a good deal? and (2) Will there be certain (perhaps not so good) rooms allocated by PH for these type of sites (since they are effectively discounted) or will I have as much chance as someone booking through PH website of getting a decent room? Thanks guys2 months to go, woohoo!!

I just asked for a pint - and more often than not got a pint

went to the car collection at the imperial palace (got free tickets off the rep when attending a meeting) thought it was good (not spectacular) had a lot of cars all in great condition and definatly a few that made us go wow

we stayed at the mirage next to caesars so ended up a planet hollywood for grub in their a few times and it was great food and reasonably priced.

macdonalds is next to hurrahs ( we gave it a miss as there was always a queue) aside of that there is burger king at the back of the Irish themed mini pub/casino downstrip from ballys (not certain on this as memory is a touch hazy)

has anyone ever used https://www.expertflyer.com? I read about it recently and the ability to check seat maps of upcoming flights was intriguing to me...so today I signed up for the 5-day free trial and checked some dates we were looking at for October.

Gobsmacked to find on our top choice outbound date 2 pairs of seats at the back of that Virgin plane were available - usually they go much earlier than this...so after frantically checking with in-laws that dates worked for them (were planning on discussing this in a few weeks time).

Have now booked and got the seats we never thought that we would get for the outbound leg, at least!

I hope you do not take this the wrong way - but have you read through post number 1? Trets has compiled masses of info there which will be a really good place to start for you giving you loads of suggestions to get you going. Again, I'm not being rude by saying this - but what you've asked is really a very wide question. :)

Stratosphere offer in travelzoo's weekly email...not my choice for hotels but seems very cheap!

    http://hotels.travelzoo.com/las-vegas-hotels/398981

The landmark Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, located right on The Las Vegas Strip, is offering rates as low as $35-$39 per night. For stays Sunday-Thursday, this offer is valid on over 50 dates through Sept. 4. Weekends are also available starting at $89 per night.
To sweeten the deal even more, the resort is throwing in more than $100 in extras, including:
    • A FREE Upgrade to the Premier Tower upon check-in (with spacious rooms and contemporary decor)
    • 1 elevation pass and 1 ride pass per person (up to 2 people) to the 1,149-foot tower, the tallest structure West of the Mississippi featuring the world's highest thrill rides ($36 value)
    • 20% OFF spa treatments over $50
    • 2-for-1 show tickets to "American Superstars" or "Bite" ($50 value)
    • Waived resort fee ($5 per night)
    • FREE admission to Polly Esther's nightclub (before 11PM)

I handed them over and very politely asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. The guy at the Bellagio actually said, "I'm sure there are"! At PH they said they would check and came up trumps every time.

I'm hoping to be even bolder at the MGM and ask if there is a suite available. Well that's the plan, but I may chicken out.

2 more sleeps!! I have been up since 4am and was up at 5.15am yesterday. I'm always like this a few days before Vegas and must be more excited than I realise.

Have a good trip...I am flying out tomorrow too...:j
