You can (nobody can stop you), but there may be adverse consequences.

Check your contract. My employer insists that all outstanding leave be taken during the notice period. Indeed a colleague rather likes the idea that he can essentially leave with no notice as he has 20 days of leave outstanding, and is on one month notice.

I've had previous employers who insist that no leave is taken during the notice period, even it it was pre-booked. I assume that's partly to ensure handover, partly to act as a deterrent.

You will unlikely get a good reference by breaking your contract.

It just depends how much integrity you have.

Yes, but you can be sued by the employer for losses they incur. I had a member of staff who left his previous employer with no notice (they had a history of not paying people their last payment). They sued for the cost of employing a contractor to deliver his work and he lost in court - his reason was deemed good enough.

From the title I suspect the OP believes they have sufficient holiday outstanding to cover the notice period and wants to leave immediately rather than working notice. The risk is that the employer won't pay the holiday pay without a battle.

Can!!!8217;t be expected on your behalf to suit you though.
