Turkish afternoon tea sounds a bit different , might research that for a birthday treat for me , it's not till December so gave time . Enjoy all your social events in the coming weeks .
  • All your plans sound wonderful, a busy social life, but so you should, you've worked hard, paid off debt, savings in the bank and not getting into debt for anything you do anymore. I can't wait to be in your position! xxx

p.s I am really craving some baclava now, I love it!

The restaurant advertises it as an ‘Afternoon Turk” Cumbria Lass! :rotfl:

Reality - re the baclava - so am I now - and I’ve just had my dinner! Thanks for the kind words. Sometimes I feel I can still be too extravagant but at least I’m nothing like I used to be. A have a horror now of falling into debt and not having a financial safety net. My food/household products budget is still at £120 per month and I have a budget for all the other categories. What’s left is my discretionary spends. Mind you the kitchen fund has hardly got going and is will be used to replace the drawings out of the emergency fund for the tooth bill! I thought my appointment was next week but it’s actually on Wednesday morning! :(

I didn’t have to pay for the lattes today as got freebies! :jThey must have liked the limoncello! :D

I can't even stay awake long enough to watch TV programmes after 9pm on a weeknight let alone go out! It's all rock 'n' roll here :)

I do prefer socialising on a Friday or Saturday where I don’t have to go to work the next day! I couldn’t go out on weeknights like I used to when I was younger. And even this week - I’ve been late in each night since Tuesday owing to hair appointment, foot consultant, and work! I feel absolutely wiped out.

The foot appointment was depressing. The MRI scan and X-rays showed that I’ve got a large boney lump on the back and under my heel which had torn the tendon under my sole and has caused the plantar fasciitis. I’ve also got some arthritis round my ankle and big toe due to wear and tear. He wants to refer me for a second opinion to a foot surgeon so it goes on and on. And no more high impact cardio....

Also went to dentist and paid that awful bill - so that’s the emergency fund depleted and I’ll have to start paying it back. :(

I moved £2400 from my e-saver which had matured to the 123 account together with the c.£39 interest.

Still trudging on with the surveys. Nothing else much happened. Concert with DD tomorrow night though.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Lovely catching up on your news, and especially the spends which are around good times. I really like your balance, taking in breakfast and lunch from home, but then splurging on nice dinner with friends or family. Thats the way to do it.

In a similar vein, went to an amazing pizza place with some of OH's friends last night, also several people we didn't know, but nice to meet them all. Walked there, (an hour :)) but I insisted on a taxi back. But lovely evening and no sore head this morning :)

Right, best crack on with the chores. No paid work today. Officially on hols :) Have a great weekend SSG
