Another vote for trying to sell the car with the faults listed.

The motor that effects the windows also effects the roof mechanism (its a hard top convertible) the dodgy window has caused leaking inside which has in turn caused mildew. The electric/motor fault is at least £400 of work, the headlight units another couple of hundred. I really don't think i'd get more than £190 selling it. Which is a shame really

I'm getting a bit post heavy this month after a pretty quiet September.

Mr Star and I sat down last night for a long overdue chat about finances. About the investment in our future being more fair and secure.
We have pretty much decided to change my contribution to the mortgage and utilities to be 2/3 of what it currently is and for me to put the other 1/3 in my Lifetime ISA so that when we come to buying together in a year or so we both have capital to put in.
It means the contribution to the current house is far more equal to our individual incomes and I have less risk of putting a lot of money into an asset that isn't mine.

We also discussed further how we feel about marriage and how we see that panning out...watch this space.... but don't go out and buy a hat just yet :rotfl:

This does mean an update to my signature to reflect the new savings goals.

    Exciting stuff.:T

It's nearly the weekend folks

    Take care
    SM

    one more thing...

I had an email from the credit club this morning to tell me my new Experian report was ready.
My credit score (for whatever it is worth) is 974!!!

I can't quite believe what a difference 9 months can make

I'm so suprised how I've managed to turn things around. 1 year ago I was in a fairly low paid job with nearly £20k of debt.
Today I'm in a well paid job, my debt is down to £12k and I have savings, including some savings that mean I could be a home owner in 2 years.
Old me could cry in gratitude to new me.

trying not to let myself get carried away but I'm so excited that we should be able to buy a house together in just a couple of years.
I've found myself googling the cost of a house brick: about £1 each.

Currently in my deposit fund I have enough to buy 81 bricks. Now I know it takes more than bricks to build a house but it's quite a fun way of visualizing it.

Old you decided to make a change to become new you - you have done fantastically well in so many respects in this last year, not just financially. I'm going to hang around so I can cheer you on when you buy your bricks!
