Great guide. Might be worth emphasising that the T10 ticket can be bought from the Renfe machine at the airport train station, which means your travel to and from the airport is €1 each way.

The Riut backpack cannot be accessed from the back and comes in various sizes. Worth a look especially if you are carrying an iPad or computer.

A short and cheap train trip takes you to the attractive town of Sitges which has a lovely beach.

Different strokes etc but we did the Sitges trip and found it all average, even the food.
Walked around a bit but nothing special

    Barcelona beach is better.

Book Sagrada Familia tickets online before you go from the official website if you need paper or on your smartphone. The queues are long just to buy a ticket for another time later in the day or next day. We took one look at the queue, went somewhere else, booked online for next day and walked straight in.

On the Metro be aware of pickpockets. We stood, hanging onto a pole, in a near empty carriage when a young woman stood between us. My husband and I looked at each other thinking "why"? As we pulled into the next station, she covered her left arm completely with her coat and moved nearer to my husband. Fortunately, he'd clocked this, moved sharply the other way and she ran off through (the open passage) to the next carriage and got off with two men.
