Define best? Both offer free trials, try for yourself and decide.

I have both and I think netflix has far more and so much easier to navigate. I rarely watch amazon just use it for free postage

You can get Prime without Video, may work out cheaper.

Can you? That must be fairly recent as I have Prime and don't recall seeing any option for Prime without Video.

As it happens I do watch some things on Prime Video anyway. :)

But to answer the OP's question - yes, you can get both Netflix and Prime for monthly payments. (Netflix only offers monthly payments AFAIK). And you can get free trials of both.

Why is that? I wasn't aware they offered any live broadcasts.

Assuming they do, would you really need to watch them, given the available content?

    +1

Of the two, 95% of the time its Netflix we'd watch.

A TV Licence is for anyone owning equipment capable of receiving TV whether you do or not.

So you would need to get a monitor to view netflix/prime as long as you didn't have a receiver you would be okay without a licence
