Help to Buy - What happens if I need to move overseas

Options
Hi All, Wanted some advice on my help to buy property. I have a job offer overseas and I am not too clear on what is allowed on the scheme if I intend to pay the mortgage while I am away.

Moved in a few months ago but now have an opportunity to work overseas for around 2 years. I dont intend to rent out my help to buy property as this is not allowed, and would not want to as I would like to keep a home base for when I am back in the UK and move back in after 2 years. Ill be popping back throughout the 2 years regularly so will be using it when I am back but I dont think Ill be classed as a UK resident. My mortgage payments are pretty low for now due to the intro rate so I should be able to pay it while away.

Does any one have any experience with being an expat and having a HTB property. It was never my intention to move into a new flat and then move country but opportunities present themselves and this flat (under HTB) is the only thing holding me back from accepting the job.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Read the terms and conditions as I think there's something in there about occupying the property as you main or principal residence.
