How lovely of you to say Ladykernow, Maybe a small amount? I am nowhere near the £12k & I did feel a little overwhelmed, but the people on here are sooooooo lovely, I am sure whatever you saved be it 12k or £120 everyone would be so supportive, I know they have been for me xxx

  • Hi there :)

Can I be added please for a total of 10k?
I’m including existing savings. This may be cheating but my goal is at the end of 2018 to have savings clearly in their places (and not floating in my account) which total 10k.

So at a £1550ish head start.

I presently take home £1240 + £400 from my partner. Minus bills of £750 and spending of £300pm I should be able to save £550pm /£6600pa. So I have 2k to find this year.

I have two small payrises starting this year and the possibility of another negotiation, so this will help a bit.

  • No savings to report here just yet, but I have been really well organised with taking lunch, instant coffee and milk to uni so far. I paid 20p for hot water twice when my break was too short to go get free hot water, but everything else was brought from home.

And today I asked nicely at Costa for half a cup of hot water in my travel mug, which was freely given. I think the small thermos bottle I bought to carry milk in has been one of my best investments recently!

    Hi,

Please put me down for £20,000.

I'm hoping to end the year with slightly more than this added into my S&S ISA, but this target amount should be achievable.

    Many Thanks.

p.s. I can't seem to get the 'Easy Update Form' to load up using the link in the original post. Is the link definitely working? Should I be logged into Google before clicking the link?
    Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
    Mortgage July 2007 - £0

  • Have now moved the £400 from my general account so officially have the £1550 saved now. Will add it to my signature.

I have given myself a kick and finally applied to switch my ‘spare’ account to receive a switching bonus and another 5% saver. I opened this account purely for that reason back in October, so thank you guys for motivating me to make easy money :)

Thank you denmjd. It’s mostly savings from last year technically, money which was floating in my account and being generally tempting to spend.

To change your sig look to the green bar above and select ‘User CP’ and then choose ‘edit signature’ from the left bar.
