Not difficult initially, but a lot of unnecessary work these days.

I used to utilise Magic DVD Ripper. It's sister product Magic Blu Ray Ripper and Copier would have been my recommendation back then.

Although I don't doubt it works, rather expensice almost £50 pounds

Is there any copy security or encryption keys I should be concerned about.

Thanks excellent idea -are all movies downloadable via Amazon UK
I have found The Gril with the dragon tattoo trilogy via blue ray though not yet via download.

Just in case you don't know, the 2009 trilogy you mention is not in the English language.
Only the 'Hollywood' version from 2011 is in English. That is just a single film. The Girl In The Dragon Tattoo(2011)

I imagined that you would utilise the evaluation version.
Either way, you have the option of MakeMKV. Though I have not evaluated that one.

Anyway, there are websites that offer high quality files that will allow you to test your system's streaming capability.

http://4ksamples.com/ is one such for 4k media.

Check your PMs for high bitrate Full HD.

MakeMKV completely removes the encryption. That's why people use it to copy Blu-ray and DVD discs.

MakeMKV rips Blu-ray/DVD to the mkv format as the name suggests. I don't know anything about plex so you will have to investigate what file formats it works with.

Plex and Kodi can play MKV files without issue.
Not sure about your Apple TV thing? But then I presume you are using a Plex app on that, are you?
If not you could use something like Handbrake to convert to a different format.
