Effectively, yes. except if you leave before the end of the month you presumably still pay the full 'fee'

The ability to raise the membership "fee" randomly ,was one of the reasons I didn't go with them earlier this year .

"Energy bills are only heading one way: up"

Guy Anker, Deputy Editor of MoneySavingExpert.com, said: "These latest hikes just reinforce the message we’ve been hammering home for the past few weeks that energy bills are only heading one way, and that’s up.
"If you pay your provider’s standard tariff it’s almost certainly expensive and it’s best to switch. But don’t delay as the cheapest deals seem to be going up and up."

Not necessarily, no. You just see it on your bill, assuming you check it.

Thanks OP - I was waiting to see what their prices might be going upto.

For me OFTM are still coming out £115 a year cheaper than my current supplier Bulb. Food for thought, think its time to switch again!

How do I find out exactly which OFTM "Zapp" tariff I am on?

In MSE Energy Club I have "Zapp April 2018 Tariff Medium User" selected as I believe this was correct when I switched to OFTM in May. But the unit rates mentioned in MSE don't match to those in the e-mail from OFTM.

I checked in my OFTM account and it says "Tariff: Zapp! April".

What does your monthly bill say?
    3.1 The Zapp! Tariff

Your contract will be for the Zapp! Tariff in your region. Regions are divided according to national gas and electricity distribution zones.

It simply says "Zapp! Tariff". Doesn't mention any month or usage level. It's rates match those in the OFTM e-mail.

I've discovered that on the MSE Cheap Energy Club, the "Zapp September 2018 Medium User" tarff's unit rates seem to match those of the "new" rates in the OFTM e-mail, so I'll just use that as my comparison, but would have expected MSE Club to update my details automatically.
