Good Afternoon!!
I have an Amex 'Preferred Rewards Gold Card'.
I've had it for a year and stupid me, completely forgot about the annual membership fee which was kindly charged (£140) on 5th July.
Amex told me I would get a prorata refund if I close my account but I don't want to lose the points I've built up.
Can I transfer them? Downgrade?
Help!!
The man at Amex was not very helpful and wasn't for giving my any advice therefore any advice from the MSE forum would be HUGELY appreciated!
Thank you
Laura

Transfer the points out and then close the account.0

As above either use them or transfer them then close0
-
I think your points remain valid for 30 days after your account is closed - before this, they must be transferred or redeemed.0

transfer the points and close the account0
