Morning, i was working yesterday, have today off so as it's raining will be doing taxi trips for son then catching up with comps. When ever i want to go to tip I look on our local web page.Maybe if you need to go again Alfie you could look up your tip times ect. It has a grid which tells you the busiest times and i never go weekends as it's near where DS works and the cars are banked up down the road.
Well done to your DS and GF for doing the jump, they are braver than me but it's a great cause. DS girlfriend and friend came back from their visit over the island and loved it. They have mermaid tails and completed the test they needed to pass to be able to swim safely with them on. Anyway lots of comps to catch up with,so better get on. Hope you all have a good day.

Morning. Some rain here but we didn’t hear it. Some benefits to the hearing going.

Alfie Monday for tips is a big mistake. Indie the online grid of busy times sounds very good. We have loads to go to the tip and our tip is miles away. DH refused to pay the annual £90 saying we would have too much for one bin. We only have a small garden as big garage at bottom of it. We have a card for neighbouring borough’s tip.

Alfie you and my SIL were very lucky with the weather for holidays.

Indie pleased your DS’s girl friend enjoyed their trip. Sounds adventurous.

Yesterday, I visit a friend she was 92. She’s now very frail and can’t walk but very with it. She’s a twin and her sister is also in poor health. The sister is a nun and lives the other side of London but my friend’s daughter had taken her to visit her sister last weekend.
My friend needs a lot of care and is now in a very small home opposite her daughter, who has five children. The youngest has just left school so they are all able to pop in and see her and it’s easy for them to bring her home.
It’s turned out to be a great arrangement.

I also visited my neighbour across the road yesterday. She had had a fall in the garden last week which resulted just in a bruised bottom. Her neighbours were out but her DS was due to call so she had to wait 45 minutes for them to come to help her get up. She said she will have to put her little old mobile in her pocket in future.

She had been to the doctors in the morning, she has had heart surgery years ago and I don’t know what she said to the doctor but they asked her about signing a form about not being resuscitated. She said she is going back in two weeks to sign it. She hasn’t told to her sons yet. I looked up about this and had forgotten that the NHS a few years ago were asking GPs to ask over 75s about this. My friend was 75 last year.

Friend’s husband died of Prostate cancer nearly two years ago. Alfie well done to your DS and girlfriend on the fundraising. Guys hospital do a lot of research and my friend’s husband lived years longer than expected.

Better crack on here. Hope everyone is ok .

    hi-and-hello-6984.gif

    Good morning all :hello:

Phew, extremely muggy night & same this morning. chaud1.gif
Feel so sorry for those affected by flooding too, absolutely
horrendous stories coming through in the news.

It sounds as if your son’s gf & friend had a great time
on the island indie, including mermaid swimming. Well
done to both, sounds very adventurous. :T

Many thanks for the tip about the refuse centre too, had a
look yesterday on their website & they have a daily grid
showing the busiest times. Very handy for my next trip! :p

Many thanks indie/leanfun re ds & gf taking part in
    skydiving for prostate cancer. :grinheart

We regularly enjoy family chats on group messenger (fondly
called the ‘Disney Groupies’ :D) & the other evening son’s
girlfriend sent a message saying “guess who’s going to do a
skydive for Prostate UK?” - Quick as a flash my daughter
cheekily replied “hopefully not mum” followed by laughing
    Emojis. :rotfl::rotfl:

I’m well known for being a daredevil but there’s no way I
would ever be able to jump out of a plane!:eek:
:rotfl::rotfl: I’m up for doing most things but not that, _pale_
I’ll happily leave that sort of stuff to the youngsters! :p

Wonderful to hear about your elderly friend leanfun, now
living in a small home opposite her daughter & family. Lovely
arrangement bringing peace of mind to both your friend &
    her family. :A

Sorry to hear about your neighbour having a fall, hope she’s
made a full recovery. She must have thought long & hard re
signing the ‘no resuscitation’ form. I’d actually forgotten all
about it - just googled for info.

Have a lovely & lucky day all, take care.

    Morning. Very muggy here too.

Agree Alfie about those affected by floods must be dreadful.

It’s just been arranged that GKs in Scotland are coming to visit us for a week on 9th July. It will be great to see them. They are coming Tuesday to Tuesday so they can have a weekend with other GS. He doesn’t know yet.

Let’s hope this weather cools down soon.

    :hello: Good morning
Hope you’re all in fine fettle re ongoing heatwave! soleil07j.gif
Still not as bad as parts of Europe though!

Apparently it’s going to get warmer over the next
couple of days, then Sunday sees the return to more
normal temperatures for this time of year. :T

Had a pleasant lazy day yesterday, took myself over to
Beaulieu to buy a few bits n’ bobs from the gardening
centre including a locally handmade birthday card for
my son’s girlfriend. It’s beautifully made plus very eco
which is a big plus in this climate. :T My daughter’s also
making a gorgeous handcrafted photo frame for her,
which will be from all of us.

Initially she asked for skydiving donations instead of
birthday pressies but we decided otherwise. :D Oscar the
dog is her much loved family hound (back in France) so my
daughter is personalising the photo frame with his name
& paw prints etc. We think she’ll love it! chienbisous.gif

Wonderful news re GKs coming to stay for a week in July
leanfun, your other GS will be thrilled to see them!

Have a lovely day all, take care.

    Morning
I have been working the last couple of days so time to catch up.I had to laugh at your daughters quick response to you doing a skydive Alfie. I would have replied," no i won't do that but am doing a bungee jump instead".lol
That will be lovely to have your GK's for a week leanfun.I am sure your other GS will love playing with them over the weekend.
I have a busy day ahead, take son to Dr's as he has to do another poo test as the results are back from the bi-opsys they did and they don't think it's crones So they want another test. He has a scan on monday then hopefully we can get into see the consultant in the next few weeks.
Then i have a big food shop to do. I am down to work all weekend so need to fill everything up. I came home last night and DS and GF had done all the washing got it dried and put it all away so don't need to do that today.Anyway, better go and water plants before it gets too hot. Hope you all have a good day.

Morning. Cooler here at present but going to be hot. Managed some gardening yesterday so front garden path is clear and hedge cut.

Alfie your DD sounds very talented making the picture frame. Lo to suggestion you would be sky diving. Like Indie’s idea of response although thought if bungy jumping makes me shiver.

Indie great your DS and GF are giving a hand. All too often I just crack on here and don’t give them a chance to help. Mind you once they were 14 I said they did their own ironing. DD1 did but DS and DD2 never wore ironed clothes again. Have to say they always look ok. When he retired years earlier than me DH did his own washing. I don’t realty know how that started I didn’t suggest it. Anyway he still does his but I do all the ironing.

Indie will think of you working tomorrow. They are forecasting 33 degrees here and then 24 Sunday. We have nearest GS for the weekend. We might have to take a ride in air conditioned car.

Can’t believe how this month is flying by. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Good afternoon :hello:

I decided to wash my car this morning before it got too
warm, didn’t realise how long it would actually take! :D
    :rotfl::rotfl:

He was filthy & badly in need of a good clean - I’ve not
long finished, no doubt the birdies will have splattered him
as soon as I stepped back indoors! Also found lots of weeny
insect poops all over him & as soon as I washed them off
more appeared. Still, tried my best! :p :rotfl:

It’s very warm here now. ventilo.gif Just had a bite to eat &
    now enjoying a cuppa. ducafe.gif

Lol indie, how I wish I’d thought of saying a bungee jump.
:rotfl::rotfl: Busy day ahead then for you today, got everything
crossed for your ds, hopefully they’ll have a clearer idea of
what ails him when you get to see the consultant. How lovely
of ds and gf to do the washing yesterday for you. Good luck with
huge shop - I’m going to the supermarket tomorrow & if the
temperature outside is too warm, I’ll most probably be found
lurking around the freezer cabinets, making the most & cooling
    off! :rotfl:

Well done re gardening yesterday leanfun. I managed to give
my lawns a light mow in the morning and also tidied up the
grass edges & had a quick weeding session in the front - before
it became too warm. Then I retreated indoors & caught up with
    comps. ecrire-ordi.gif

Have a lovely time with your gs over the weekend. I agree, the
days are really flying by, just a couple of days until July! :p

Have a lovely weekend all, whatever your plans. Take care.

Bit cooler here this morning and rain supposed to arrive by 3pm. Hope the rain does come as everything is so dry here. Seemingly there hasn't been rain here for weeks and the flowers are looking sorry for themselves. Was going to water them last night but left it when I saw the forecast. We still have the front lawn to cut - did the back first yesterday as it was so long. Don't tend to do it all in one day these days.
Anyway, been really busy with washing, sorting out birthday cards, internet stuff etc. Just about on top of it now. Most of ironing is even done. Really enjoyed our Cornwall and Somerset break. We went to see Port Isaac (aka Port Wenn) too which was good especially since there was a Doc Martin repeat on the TV that night so we sat pointing out the places we had just seen that day.
Hope you are all managing to keep cool as I see the temperatures down south are looking high for today.
    Must get on.

Great you are home and enjoyed your time in Cornwall and Somerset.

It seems even hotter here than yesterday. We expected GS here in the day yesterday but DD1 took him out to Leeds Castle. They came back exhausted from the heat. The house seemed much cooler yesterday as you opened the kitchen door the heat hit you. Very muggy today thought it was supposed to be cooler.

Hope everyone is surviving the heat.
