i am new to the forum but got lost on it and didnt know where to post my question is i was going to buy a bike in halfords it was a display bike so it had been reduced and was the last one in stock so it was £334 but this bike was to big for me so i had taken it back and got a other model of bike but it was from the same brand which was going to cost me £599 i asked the guy could you reduce it he was like no and then i ask again he said ill take £99 off it i was like thats great got it for £500 but now the bike is on sale at £479 so am thinking do i have a leg to stand on and get it reduced even futher as he was reducing the bike before the sale came on and he also mentioned he was taking and other £20 off to make it £479 at the sales price surely i should get £120 off the bike as he stated he was going to reduce it before the sale came on

I think if you buy something and it later gets reduced in a sale, it's just tough luck. Unless they'll make a goodwill offer there's little you can do.

I think Halfords have been very fair by agreeing to exchange your bike. It must be annoying that the model you then purchased has been reduced. You can ask for a further discount, but they are under no obligation. Would you be offering to pay more if the price had been increased?
