Wow - you are smashing the £100 monthly target! And congrats on the cheque, I might try thinking that when I get in tonight :)

Thanks sellotape. Hope you're lucky with the mail today too! :D

We've had a sprinkling of the white stuff here this morning. DS was very excited, until he realised there wasn't enough to make a snowball!

I've brought lunch and snacks to work today so should be a NSD. Tea is sorted for DS and myself as well as OH who is coming over for food tonight.

Yesterday I ordered a mouse sander and accessories for £23.99 to finish some work in the house and tackle my table renovation project.:) Funds were taken from the 'house projects' pot, so monies have been moved over to cover that today. It's really working for me, putting £75 a month into a pot for the house improvement fund. I don't feel so guilty or worried about spending on things for the house every month and it does mean I'm tackling projects bit by bit which is much easier.

Just (impatiently) waiting for that cheque to clear now so I can make an overpayment. :D

Brrrr it’s cold. Makes me feel so very grateful DS and I have a warm home to go to and plenty of food in our cupboard.
No snow here at the moment, but it is apparently on its way and there’s a possibility DS’s school may be closed tomorrow which will be difficult as I have no childcare options, other than working back the time at work which is really difficult to do.

I have spent £8 today on a 6 month subscription to a magazine I bought and loved. Thought i’d treat myself! Money will come out of my spending budget for that.

I’m hoping to get some surveys done tonight and earn a few extra points towards a voucher or Paypal funds. I’ve had notification of surveys available but no chance to do them today so far.

Off to DS’s swimming lesson shortly, then prepping tea, getting lunchboxes ready in case school/work is on and then hopefully a sit down with the laptop and getting a few things done!

DS's school is closing early today and will probably be closed tomorrow if we get the snow later as exepcted. There's no snow currently and can't help but think people are panicking somewhat!

The regular mortgage payment + small regular overpayment (from rounding the total up to £400) has come out of the account, so will update the signature shortly. The cheque will clear tomorrow so I can shift some more money around and make an overpayment then. :)

I just realised I made a mistake with my mortgage totals last month - because I count my OP target month from payday to payday I forgot to add on the mortgage interest which is added a week into my 'month.' So, my mortgage is higher than I had been recording.:(

Not exactly sure what the total is yet, but I've worked it out to be £77531.60 - if my daily interest calculations of £6.20 are correct.
Hmm, if I could make overpayments to the equivalent of £6.20 a day, at least I'd be covering the interest. Maybe when I receive the extra tax credits I'll be able to achieve that. :)

Easy to miss the interest - my yearly statement always shows a lower balance than the banking app which I forget every time! :)

    Have you had snow yet?

    £77,358.05 is the outstanding mortgage amount, so lower than I had guessed. !!!128077;

It seems we were lucky enough to avoid the snow sellotape. It’s strange as everywhere else around us got covered, but we didn’t get any!

Just jiggled a few bits of money around the pots now that the cheque has cleared. The credit card has been paid off (£129.45); £100 has gone to the emergency savings pot (now up to £900) and I!!!8217;ve just made an overpayment of £60.05 to the mortgage. This reduces the total to £77,298 which seems a nice jump down towards getting it in the £76,000!!!8217;s - hopefully next month. Total overpayments so far this month = £78.44, so only £21.56 needed to hit my £100 target for the month.

I made some pasta bolognaise for tea for DS and myself with mince from the freezer last night - even managed to hide a fair few veggies in there that DS didn't notice. ;) I'm currently tucking into a leftover portion for my lunch at work and have frozen one other portion with pasta and one portion of the meat sauce.
Tonight we'll have something from the freezer/cupboards.

We need to pop out to a shop and buy DS some new wellies tonight too as his are too small. We didn't get chance last week.
I also need to pick up some bread, bananas and tinned tomatoes as have run out. I'm hoping to hit two birds with one stone and get it all, including the wellies, from Asda. I think I have around £4 left on a gift card for there too.

There was a birthday this week that I needed to buy for, thankfully it cost me very little as I had picked up some gifts earlier in the year in the sales. I only needed to buy a card (59p in HB ;)) and some flour and butter to bake a cake. :) I also picked up Mother's Day cards in HB at the same time, just need to decide what I'm doing about a mother's Day gift for my Mum as anything I buy will need to be sent due to distance. :(

I've bought myself a few prints for a space in the lounge I've been trying to fill for ages. I cut costs and bought a greeting card version of a print to save ££'s too which I'll frame. :) That's all come out of my spending budget. There's some others I'd like too as am going to make a collection of a few prints, but I will buy those next month.

I started work on my bargain old £20 dining table yetserday. I only had about 10 minutes free to sand some of the top down, but the difference is amazing already! I love it! I can't wait to get on with that now.
