  • Well done everyone on your 1%s. I’ve been having a major declutter of our house and really need to pull my finger out and list the items on gumtree and eBay. I hate the hassle of doing it, but needs must.

Our monthly dd came out yesterday taking me to 6% paid. (1% challenge #1)

    Hi all,

I've been lurking and reading people's progress :) I'm trying to get into the groove with selling items but keep loosing momentum and debating just giving it all to charity. I am majorly decluttering, so this for me is also about making space. I think since I agreed a lower repayment to my debt (with a family member) I've also lost the groove.

I'd like to give myself the goal of £2018 for 2018, so £20.18 is 1%.

I think seeing postage and fees taken off also really demotivates me, so I have 15 high price items listed on E***, but my latest 9 items I have listed elsewhere.

So far I have sold 6 items at 65.94 (minus postage of 23.40) = 42.54 (unsure what this will be after fees.) So will check in with a cautious 1%.

Does anyone else start taking pictures or listing items and just want to give up?

Welcome to the 1% challenge. I’ve assigned you number 38. If you could mention your number when checking in that’d be great. Good luck with your 1%s.

  • Thank you AdventureWanted.

Postage was over £9 cheaper then I had calculated as they came in as large letters. I think seeing it as a % go up so quickly is helping motivate me with the small sales.

    Hello!

Wondering if I'm too late to join?

I've recently had my light bulb moment with the realisation I am £20k + in debt (£21050 to be exact) and have no idea how it got to this stage.

Felling a little bit daunted by that figure so hoping to pay off the "priority debts" first - these are the ones that are killing me with high interest.

So this will be £15000 and my 1% will be £150
Total debts £21050! now £10941. 76. Total extra income made in Jan22 £109. 27 Feb 22 £45.25 Total extra income made in 2022 £154.52 Aiming for debt free at 45 - 41 months to go!

No 4 checking in. Not made any payments yet but going to sort out my food budget to try and help make payments as January was a bad month money wise.

I also need to change my 1% as another of my credit cards is going to be charging interest and it's a higher interest charging card.

    So my 1% is £16.80.
    Did owe £9,951.96

Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j
