BT contract expiry looking at options 24th Oct 19 at 4:55 PM
Have been on BT Ultrafast Fibre 1 for 18 months and received a renewal at an increased price of 34.99 without evening and weekend calls as before. Service has been OK but a 15% price increase on a 2 year contract means I'm looking at options. PlusNet are offering 26.99 over an 18 month contract for Unlimited Fibre Extra and a 70 cash back. Anyone have recent experience moving this way?

If your on BT ultrafast you may be on a fibre to the home line.
Plusnet do not offer any services over FTTH Barring legacy trial customers .

No sky or talk talk or any other cheap isp I'm afraid.

Yes its FTTP there are a few ISPs that may supply .
Not sure if you can move backwards from FTTP to FTTC and copper wire .

Service over FTTP should have been more than just OK .What speed are you paying for .

Speak to BT retentions as say you are thinking of moving to a mobile dongle as it will suit your needs .

The billing item is Fibre 1 Unlimited and I'm achieving a download of approx. 66Mbps and upload around 16Mbps. I'm pretty sure its not FTTP since there is a copper pair coming into the premises. Most likely its FFTC - there's a green cabinet up the road.

Was with BT along time but the monthly chargers were bad and they would pressure sell unwanted extras... The final straws was a three figure bill for a few European international calls...

Also when trying to cancel the contract for the first time on online chat the guy would not listen and would keep trying to pressure sell a new contract... very offputting.

I'm about to leave PlusNet the speeds been really inconsistent lately.

Best I've found is via the post office 38mb is currently 22.90 total contract cost under 275 with 50+ cashback

There 67mb is 28.90 with the same cashback.

    I think they use talktalk

See previous Post Office BB posts first .
You may be moving your inconsistent speeds to the next ISP .

You always need to keep switching to make your money. Cashback all the time.

They're all the same service, they all run on BT openreach. I don't believe the issue is ever with the ISP.

Just keep switching and making your cashback.

Do the plusnet, sky, nowtv, ee, Bt merry go round. (dont switch between nowtv/sky and bt/plusnet directly). There have been reports of number transfer being botched within the same group. That's if the number is important to you.
