  • I've been lurking on this thread for a month or so now, and decided to buy some bonds at the end on Jan (30k).

Found out today I've won 3x£50 in my first month. Fantastic. :j

I reckon I'm nearly half way to what I would get from a high street bank in a year and I have the excitement of the draw to look forward to every month.

Very happy I invested. Roll on April.

when i was 16 i brought £100 worth of bonds, and won £50 within 6 months. So now im 17 have just invested £2000, so even if i dont win anything my money is safe!

Yes you can, on the website www.nsandi.co.uk in the top right hand corner where it says Premium Bonds insert your holder number and click go and it will tell you there.

    Hope this helps

if i buy bonds online is the money taken from my account immediately? or when/if they send me paperwork to sign please.

whats the best way to buy bonds in your opinion, online or post office?
is post office quicker as i sign an application form. - also how do i pay at post office? cheque, cash etc?

    thanks in advance

You can do it up to midnight on the last day of the month on line and you get a confirmation email almost immediately.

The bond is with you in a few days.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

is the bond with you in a few days if its your 1st application.
read somewhere they send you something to sign?

    cheers
  • I bought my bonds online on the 28th of Jan (my first pb purchase), got an email straightaway.
Then received in the post a welcome pack - which I recall signing and posting back.
My bonds are marked from the date of my online transaction, rather than from when I returned the signed form.
They were entered into the march draw (you need to hold them for 1 month before they can enter a draw), so this start date seems to be based upon the date of the online transaction rather than when the paperwork is returned.

cheers, was the money taken from your account immediately then.
also when did you receive the bonds? after you sent the signed pack back to them?
gonna have a punt with the bonds, the isa is doing nothing now.

    thanks again.
