Currently with Sky BB, have 12 months Free BB deal that is ending next month. Its time to call up and have a word to see if we can fix the price for another 12 months, however there are some speed issues.

We moved not so long ago to a rural area, and this chopped the broadband speed from 8MB. The new house has a Virgin Connection which could give us options to up to another 10MB speed, however the costs are not cheap.

Any ideas? BT Fibre is not an option. Has to be Virgin.. :(

!!!!!! .. the EE deal of £168 pa with £100 Amazon voucher was to expire on 27/12/14 but it looks like they have ended it early

It was £168 pa with a £100 Amazon voucher making it £68 pa / £5.66pm
    and now it's £161.40 pa with a £50 voucher making it £111.40 pa / £9.28 pm :(

And MSE just changed the page and didn't think to mention that the price had gone up from last week .. thanks MSE .. who's side are you on ?

    Hi archery

I do apologise that you missed the £100 deal. MSE were aware of the offer change, and this was stated in the terms of the old offer.

    Thanks

Same here, I just received my MAC from BT today and then came on here to find the offer had ended early.

This old version of the page clearly states the £100 offer is valid until Weds 24th: http://web.archive.org/web/20141219041915/http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband

This older version states 31st Dec as the date: http://web.archive.org/web/20141210212219/http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband

  • There is currently £65 cashback available from Quidco for the Plusnet deal listed on the MSE site, still with the £50 cashback from Plusnet as well. Not quite as cheap as the original EE deal but not far off and service may be better too based on reviews.

The calculations for the EE fibre optic offer are wrong. They don't include the full priced line rental for the last 6 months of the 18 month contract at £15.75 per month. Therefore, the overall number, excluding the Amazon voucher, should be £531, not £437.

This means the Plusnet deal is better, even factoring in the Amazon voucher, albeit with no included weekend calls for Plusnet.

Could this be because of the recent change in offer? I recall the previous EE offer was for 12 months (but may be misremembering), as well as offering a £100 voucher. Sadly, I too had a diary entry for switching today and missed the better offer.

Perhaps the better Plusnet service will be some consolation :)

Also found a 12 month BT Infinity 1 unlimited offer via uswitch for equivalent of about £27/month, with a £125 Sainsbury's voucher on top! Shame I'm already on BT.

I think Plusnet have some movement too, just keep pushing and call back if you get someone who will not budge.

My PlusNet BB contract is just coming to an end - so is my BT line saver.

I'd like to get FTTC this time and move my phone line to PlusNet too. Has anyone had any success getting a reduction out of them for existing customers? They currently offer £3.75 for the first six months of the fibre element, but only for new customers.
