Why aren't BMWs limited to Winter tyres and 75 BHP

Surely if you car isn't moving the only answer's more Go Pedal & if it isn't stopping it needs more brake? More is the answer to everything!
But the accelerator and brake are binary devices surely. On or off. . .0 -
I wonder what happens if you have one of those Nissans advertised with 'single pedal' driving? Could panic braking become panic acceleration? Just because you can turn it off, doesn't mean some owners will learn how or why.0

They just have the equivalent of massive engine braking when you lift off the go pedal. Could be tricky in the snow. I expect it can be turned off.0 -

Can't find the part saying," just stay in bed"?..0 -
I overheard a conversation this morning, someone annoyed he had swapped his car early last week to a 3 series xdrive.
He went 4wd for exactly this weather, but today was the first day he has managed to get anywhere. He tried getting out of his drive and couldn!!!8217;t, so went no further as the roads were covered so he knew he would get stuck.
He was annoyed because he had swapped from Subaru Forester which he knew wouldn!!!8217;t have had any problem with the few inches of snow he experienced.0 -
In The Olden Days pretty much every car was RWD, and we merrily drove our escorts, capris, cortinas, marinas victors and vivas in far worse conditions than this, and Winter tyres hadn't even been invented yet
(Mind you, we did drive around with bags of sand in the boot.....;))
I had a big metal drum from a fishing boat winch, which weighed over 2 cwt in the boot of my marina. I was staying in a block of tenement flats at the time and dumped it out the back in the summer. A new owner took offence at the mess of the place and was trying to tidy it up. He had a friend helping and they struggled to move it between them. Anyway, they had no knowledge of fishing boats and thought it was a wheel! I was remarkably amused listening in as they were blown away by the weight of it and were speculating what kind of vehicle it must have come from.0 -

My Marina was rubbish in the snow even on 145/70R13 tyres. Unfortunately, I didn't have a winch drum to weigh it down.
My wife's 4x4 SUV (not a BMW) has 20" steamroller summer tyres, it goes but stopping and getting around corners are a real problem i.e. it doesn't. My RWD saloon has all-season tyres of a similar size and copes fine.0 -
The 320d x drive i had had the M pack on it bigger wheels low profile tyres the seats were like sitting on a church pew for 2 hours its gone now anyway The one thing i would say thou the MPG was pretty good0
