National Insurance - Returning to work in UK from Abroad

Hi all,
I'm British and have been working abroad for the last 10 years. I've not been paying UK National Insurance contributions during that time. I've just accepted a job in London, starting in a few months.
My question is, how to I work out what NI top up I need to pay and how can it be paid, eg. lump sum or spread over several months/years? Any pointers would be really useful.
Thank you in advance!
Mark

If you are asking because you want to get as much of a state pension as you can, your first step would be to get a state pension forecast to see what your current situation is and take it from there
https://www.gov.uk/check-state-pension
Post the figures over on the Pensions board and they'll be able to advise you further0
