Hi All
Im looking some advice, I have been offered some hours in a school 15 hours as classroom assistant, and also have a choice of 32.5 hours, these are just to cover staff off on maternity, Im already getting a small pension of 236 a month from nilgosc, and was wondering would I be better off working the 15 hours or should I go the 32.5. I dont think I would be paying much tax on the lower hours but dont know if by going full time plus my pension would I be paying a lot of tax on it,.
I would appreciate any advice on this matter
Thanks in advance

What's the rate per hour? Your pension will be £2,836 per year, personal allowance next year is £12,500 so you can earn almost £10,000 before you pay any tax. Above and beyond that you'll be paying just over 31% on the additional earning (tax plus NIC), up to you whether that's worth it to you or not0

The rate would roughly be £10 per hour, its a temporary position so I probably go for the full time post. Thanks for your help0
