My big financial challenge to mortgage freedom 19th Apr 17 at 5:51 PM
I've been avidly paying off as much of the mortgage as I could for the last 8+ years, only...it wasn't my mortgage.
Now we are parting ways and I'm ready for a new challenge.
I need to get a mortgage-in the throes of, as we speak. Once I get it, I need to pay it off ASAP. It's more than 3 X the size of my ex partners mortgage.

So, myself and Miss tc are buying a house together. (Trying to).
We finally received documents to sign and the conveyancer wants the deposit. I'm hoping that we will be sorted and moved within a month.
We are first time buyers and there is no chain.

    No spend day today
I think thatís 6 so far this month.
Evening meal is gonna be beef stew. Beef from a joint of beef I bought over Christmas-it cost nearly £9 and I used about 1/4 of it. 1 large onion-30p ?
3 carrots 17p ish, herbs, seasoning, dumplings-butter 20p ish flour 8p ish? Herbs. All in slow cooker. Enough to do probably 6 or 7 portions-served with mash and veg. Good wholesome meal for a fiver if that.

    No spend day yesterday.
I’ve been really good, taking lunch into work every day instead of going out and buying food. I did get a doughnut yesterday-but I had a voucher so it was free!

    No spend day today.
Not at work today either-day off. Fortunate really as I have some kind of rhinitis.
Yesterday I finally wrote and postage off an important letter I’ve been putting off.
I’ve also decided to make some changes to my diet. I eat too much junk food and not enough of the healthy stuff

So jealous of you guys. I can't even get a mortgage. I am a freelancer and starting a new business together with my husband so it's really hard for us to get a mortgage. I have hope though it will not be too long!
