Nightmare with carpet bars and concrete flooring

I got some carpet bars last year a few months after moving to my flat as my carpet was getting frayed at edges when walking, my relative tried putting it down best they could but as it was concrete floors it was a nightmare as the screws couldn't go in right, eventually did it but I had to move 2 bars after to lay down wiring as well as when council needed to fix a loose door.
Since then those bars dont hold down, tried bigger screws and such but they just don't screw in as if the hole is too big.
Any other way? Or way to say fill the hole and a substance hardens around the screws so they grip?

You need to use wallplugs if you are drilling into concrete.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Plug and screw it or glue it with CT10

I recently had to put down a few gripper rods on a concrete floor and I used this stuff:

A good clean of the concrete to get the dust off, a few dollops on the bottom of the gripper rods and after putting them down and leaving until the next day, they were absolutely solid.0 -
Thanks for advice, well they are over pieces of carpet so would that work?0

If the carpet bars are fitted on top of the carpets, glue won't work - glue is for carpet gripper rods that go under the carpet. Bars need to be screwed through the carpet, so you need wall plugs set into the concrete. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Carpet bars in my house are fixed into the concrete floors with nails that are about 1/2" long. Ok so I was in Screwfix today, got some wallplugs, didn't fit into most of the holes I had so need to extend them, but the ones they did screwed in tightly.
Also the concrete in the kitchen/living room doorway is crumbly I assume due to a leak I had last year, is it safe to drill into that or shall I phone council.0
