Posting- excluded items?

Can you send Bath / Toiletries through Hermes or RM?

I am finding the excluded items list a bit confusing. It says all liquids are excluded (I assume that includes Bath / Shower stuff) I don't know if RM are the same.

Can someone put me on the right track with this. Can I post or not?

    Hermes excludes liquids i think?

RM allow them as long as you bag them in leak proof bags.

Leak proof bag and then box it securely.

I've sent perfume via royal mail you have to attach this label or tell the people at the post office the package contains liquids and they will attach it for you
There's also a restriction ob volume for perfume it's 150ml not sure what it is for toiletries
    https://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/Example-ID8000-Label_0.pdf

    also found this
    Liquids under 1 litre

UK & International - Allowed in the mail, see restrictions and packaging guidelines below:
Items must be securely closed and placed in a leak-proof inner liner, such as a sealed polythene bag and in a leak-proof outer.
Mark as "FRAGILE" when sending glass bottles.

Not sending glass or perfume just bath stuff you would get in a gift set.
Incidentally, when people sell such like on ebay or in a hamper do they come under these rules?

They will come under the rules if properly declared.

Easier at the post office I guess, you don't need to give them your details so they wont know who posted it. Couriers will.

So if your parcel leaks with a courier they know where to send the cleanup bill.

Bag it and package it securely. Can you throw it out an upstairs window and stand on it? If not get better packaging. :)

Of course, Royal Mail and / or couriers don't care where item was sold and rules are applied regardless - there is no way a courier could have different rules relating to where the item was sold.

Some sellers have specialised accounts with couriers for sending liquids etc and some just risk sending things and hoping packages aren't scanned or checked. If you read the perfume forums a lot of people are still risking sending non compliant bottles through the post- many get caught though and are destroyed but some senders are either aware and take the risk or just haven't read the guidelines.

I recently sold some bath type items in a gift set, bagged and double boxed without incident- but I was careful to ensure I only offered to the UK and didn't even risk ebay's GSP.

I wasn't talking about where the item was sold, just using ebay as an example as there are loads of such items on there and wondered how they got on with posting such items.
It's sounding like a lot of hassle so don't think I am going to bother.
Thank you all for advice anyway!

The majority of Ebay sellers will just post without declaring. Amazon often use Hermes for larger perfume sizes because it cannot be air freighted.

Sounds like your in a bit of a huff because you didn't get the answer you wanted, sell by all means and don't declare, that's a decision you can make.

What a strange remark to make. Why would you say that?

I asked for advice on here and got the advice I was looking for, no question about "not getting the answer I wanted" as you put it.

I always find the advice given on this forum helpful (apart from a handful of strange remarks)
Please don't try and read into my post something that isn't there.
