Sealed Pot Challenge ~ 12

Hi
Can I please join the challenge this year? Have done this on an informal basis myself for the past year and then noticed this thread last week - seemed like fate!!
Have changed up everything I had already saved, which came to £363 bagged plus £18.72 leftover - this is now the starting amount of this year’s pot
Not sure how much I’ll manage to save, but the aim is to use it as spending money on family holiday in 2020 - our DDs will finally be going to Disneyland! (not that they know it yet!! )Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.
Debt at highest = £62,842.59 (Dec 2018) - now £44,611.39 (Oct 2021)Emergency fund £268.63 / £1000NSD October Challenge 8/12NSD target Sept-Dec 2021 17/500 -
Thank you Sue-UU, the font was very big, I've done what you suggested and hopefully that's it sorted. Thank you for all your hard work and I'm in for sealed pot 12Sealed Pot Challenge member 28

Hi Sue, everyone
Good to see the challenge again for 2019 and I'm glad I'm in.
So I've already been up to the pound/accessories store and grabbed two medium sized saving tines ( the kind that don't open without a tin opener - or chainsaw...if your that way inclined). They seem to have gone up??? £2.50 each - I didn't pay that last year - BUT one was bashed in a bit so he gave me it for a £1 . One tin is for coppers & 5p's. The other is for anything of higher value.
The new work saving club doesn't start till mid January next year so I will be joining that again... maybe opt to save less next year as I have some home improvements that need doing.
@Lucyhope - Glad to see you got your siggy sorted
Hi Browneyed_girl - I'm using half of my savings from this years challenge for a holiday - probably India (which I find very economical), wishing you well with your savings and future trip.
Sue :A - I'll pop back soon, so take care.

:wave:Hi Sue and fellow potters. Here we go again. Hope I get the same number,#12.I'll assume so till further notice
I already have a lot of 5p coins in the box - I was too busy to count them yesterday, and didnt like the look of the empty tin,so I put them back in.:)
Very busy. Daughter is moving to her new council flat next week. We have only a few days to scrape all the walls and decorate before the new carpets come. I have my trusty scraper at the ready, but there are about 4 layers of papers and its long slow work!
Will have to be very frugal this week,as I have mislaid my debit card, and have very little cash. I will probably to dig the coins out again to use, since my new card wont come till Thursday next week.:D Thank goodness I had a Asd@ home delivery yesterday, and have plenty of food in the house, and all the bills are direct debits!
Remind self - need to sort out my signature for the new challenge year.0 -
Hi - new to this but can I join please? Already have the perfect pot in mind no target, would just like to be more clever with my *spare* (ha) cash.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

Afternoon
Happy new SPC. Can't wait to get started.
Went to my local Natwest this morning and they have the old coin machines. I emptied one of the three (very heavy) bags of coins in and it counted 69p :eek: based on yesterday's two bags equalling £291, i reckon that the 69p was wrong! took it all back and I am going to a bigger branch later, so still not total for me yet

Hi there Sue
Thank you so much for starting this again! I promise to drop by more often this year. I'm putting 31/10/19 in my diary right away.
Can I change my target for this year? #574 £400 as I'm going to be even more careful with my daily spend. I have to put up a new fence in 2019, so cash will be in limited supply. But definitely saving the £5 notes, £2 and 50p coins again - it worked really well.
Have a great weekend everyone
