No, direct EE contract customers only.

Text "wifi calling" to 150 and it will tell you if your phone/plan meets the criteria.

Not according to the EE site, he is correct about that (unless it is only being used as retention tool).

Not available to buy but if you have signal problems EE will give you a free one (saving £100). Although you can now use wi-fi to connect calls on certain phones (iphone 5/5c/5s/6/6+/Samsung 6 so far) and, therefore, won't need a signal box. Calls come out of your calling minutes and not your broadband charges.

Actually the word to text is "wificalling" ;)

You will also get an error if the feature is already active (texting wificalling to 150 is actually to enable the feature, rather than a code to just see if it will work).

Just to clarify your post, the Galaxy S5 is also included, and calls come out of the calling minutes AND your broadband allowance (if you don't have unlimited broadband).

Sorry Dave forgot about the S5! Will need to check on the broadband allowance bit as we were told it only comes out of calling minutes / allowance. Altho thinking about it you're probably right!

Thank you - my wife has a 24 month T-Mobile contract from May last year (was originally supposed to be lots of cashback but Phones4u went bust, different story).

Anyway, when we phoned up a few months ago to see if we could switch to EE following the advice on the page above we were told we would have to pay off the rest of the 24 month contract (£180 or so) before they could do it.

Looking at the page above, it covers customers who have been with them less than 90 days or 180 days, but there seems no option for above this - why not after 12 months (so new 12 month contract required)?
Customers on Orange and T-Mobile with 24 month plans:

    • If you've been on your existing plan for at least 60 days but less than 90 days: you'll need to start a new 24 month plan on EE.
    • If you've been on your existing plan for at least 90 days but less than 180 days: you'll need to start a new 21 month plan on EE.
We are only on an £11.99 tariff but still, the page above does not seem to suggest a minimum requirement. Perhaps the CS misunderstood. Even if we did manage to get them to switch us, the minimum tariff seems to be £16.99.

EE are quoting something like using 10mb for a 30 minute phone call - so even on a limited BB service, I wouldn't think that such a small amount should even be a consideration IMO.

iPhone 5 isn't mentioned on their website (just 5C and 5S) - is this being added please?

I'm pretty sure it's a typo, iPhone 5 has not been mentioned for WifiCalling and isn't supported by any of the U.S. networks who have it either.
