Stash Busting 2019 - I WILL use my mountains of craft stash before buying more!

  • I have crocheted 4 1/2 squares so far - I started making a cat blanket, but despite the pattern saying it took 1 ball, there didn't seem to be enough about halfway through so had to start again. When I've used up the present ball of wool I'll fill in the gaps with white or grey squares then sew up and send off to the cat rescue place. It also has the advantage of each square is finished fairly quickly so I feel all productive (and uses up a stray ball of quite bright wool).

I must admit to starting a 'wonky' patchwork block - got given the pattern by a woman at work so thought it could go towards reducing the pile of useful fabric bits. Might have to make more than 1 to achieve that , but as someone who has an aversion to patchwork, it is a pleasant surprise how straightforward it is. Hopefully I will get some more done at the weekend.

I don't think the cat will mind what shape the blanket is, so long as it keeps them warm. My cat who sleeps in the green house loves hers but then she has 2 hot water bottles under blankets as well. MY hubby spoils her, never makes me a hot water bottle but then i don't purr very often. The same cat last year even had a brand new gas fire bought for her as it was so cold. lol

Finished up a few sheets of stickers and rolls of washi tape last night! Don't have a lot left now so the challenge is to not be tempted by new things!

  • Just found another 5 pieces of fabric of varying sizes (cue eye-roll from OH) - I really need to make something!

On the plus side, managed to resist a rather nice roll-end of coat wool. It was very pretty, though!

I did almost all of the cross stitch yesterday during naptimes, I was worried it wouldn't be finished in time, but it's come along well. Also really enjoying it, which will help get the shoebox of threads used up. An auntie very kindly gave me a lot of her cross stitching supplies, but I think there's probably enough stuff that I'd never need to buy anymore!

    94 / 400.

Used up a load of pens and destashed some more bits to use at work. I work with children so it will eventually get used up when there.... I’ve only counted the things that are gone. Not the things to take into work. When they’re finished there I’ll count them.

I hope the paper trimmer will be delivered Monday as I have reagrranged it for then.... while I wait in for it I’m hoping to actually get some stuff made. Yay.

I’ve managed to resist buying things. For now. Haha.

You're on a roll nimbo! I did a bit more of a different cross stitch last night after little one went to bed. I've got the bug! Can only be a good thing :)

  • Finished the back of OHs pullover so getting there slowly. Also done a bit more of my patchwork and it's nearly completed. Then it has to be quilted all by hand so that's also a slow job.
All that clutter used to be money
  • I've made a big dog bed today using 3m of fabric I bought about 5 years ago from a cs and 2 single duvets that we no longer use. The dog is lying on it already!
Also used some elastic to put in the waist of a skirt that was too big.

So my new paper trimmer has arrived. Yay!

Obviously the ups driver arrived just after I had got in the bath.

So I have had a quick play today. And made a few pages to go into a journal. I was having a soak because I was so achey. So I may not use it more until tomorrow.

Nothing made but there are some serious plans. Yay.
